So Weds is working on these dry carbon wheels. they're 6.1 lbs each and cost $12K for a set of 4. damn crazy.
and the less expensive version

Vossen CV3 20x9 & 20x10.5
ordered them last week. figured they would match well
WTF, they can keep that ****..
Those are HOT. It would suck to curb them though lol.
i really wonder how strong they are. I mean Weds is under RAYS which ranks at the very top but why hasn't an all carbon fiber wheel ever been put on the race track. Price is no object so there must be something else and the only thing i can look at is strenght.
epic win! but ouch on the price. not something i would ever track but certainly something i would rock![]()
don't you want your wheels light FOR the track?Originally Posted by PURE jdm

Yes you want light wheels but the dynamics on a track are a little different than on a street car. Constant curb hits, offs, tire changes, things like that. I just have a hard time seeing CF rims be practical for even those teams with the money. That's a good bit of test time they could get just to replace the wheels. Many tracks can be rented for an entire weekend for that kind of money, which do you think will make the car faster.Originally Posted by 87 Turbo II

not bad... i might order a couple of sets...
imagine these on a hb or an si....they already steal the hell out of these $5k cars...imagine w/ $12k wheels
then the knockoffs![]()
EJ1....sohc ride out
Dynamag has been making carbon wheels for a while, and if I had to guess I would say that they are probably making these. Zipp Speed Weaponry our of Indiana made carbon wheels for cars at one point to, I think they were just center lock though.
