Pros and Cons?
You will pay more + tax at a dealer, but usually the cars are inspected and the dealer will sometimes even offer a short warranty even if the car is out of the mfg's warranty. On some used cars you can still purchase an extended warranty if you wish. Private sellers are usually cheaper, but you will need to set up your own financing and also it would be very smart to have a dealer or reputable shop do a pre-buy inspection as well as a carfax.
we all know that buying in a registered car dealer is much safer because everything is covered some offers insurance too plus the warranty is very important but it's alot expensive than buying to a private owner.Originally Posted by green91

Also, if i went the private owner route, how long would it take to get an inspection and how much would it be on average?
private dealers are cheaper but beware of what you buy.
buying from a dealer is alot safer but more expensive.
