Official bash civics thread

Since i LOL daily at the civic/honda bashing on this site, i figured everyone needed a thread to vent.

Most common arguments in the case THE PEOPLE v. CIVIC

-everyone has one
-fwd is wrong wheel drive
-civic owners are ricers
-civic owners get rev'd at by other cars

Lets hear your opinions. Also please post what kind of car you drive.

I own 2 civics. I made this thread for the sheer fact i think its funny that people keep using the same few arguments over and over to bash them. So rather than polluting every thread that says honda or civic in it, i gave haters a place to do it here.

i have had about 7 civics and i currently drive an integra...my slowest civic being a high 14 second car and the fastest was a low 12 second 4 door dx. it sucks that 99% of civic drivers are complete ass tards..and it makes the 1% of us that actually do something with a civic look foolish. regardless of what brand car you like, regardless of if you like fwd, rwd, or awd you should be able to appreciate a quick car. honda is my platform for drag racing but i dont talk **** about stangs or vettes...i like a fast car regardless of the make or drivetrain. and at the end of the day there are just as many ******s cruising in 240's, neons. eclipses, mustangs, camaros, you name it and i guarantee a queer is messing it up for the rest of the guys.

I drive a civic (hatch). I like it for a 4 banger car, I would pick it if i had to have a 4 banger. I do not like the fact that my civic is a hatch.

I don't hate Honda's, just I dislike some of the owners who feel that honda>all other brands. Great example is some of those assqueef's on youtube. Let's say you post a vid of a car not very much known for doing much of anything literally crapping all over one of the all time favorites like the RSX-S then there's always at least one idiot that's gonna come on there and say something like "I know you can't beat mine" or something outlandishly faggish. Those are the ones who I don't like.

When VTAK fails, well, ummm you have just a torqueless sh!tbox on 4 skinny wheels. That's it.

The average civic owner has a fart can (ergo folger's coffee can) sticking out the back and brags that is for "performance" when really it's just an annoyance. All that noise and half of them are still slow. Slow in vain and lost at heart. Some of the Honda guys fail.

i have had tons of cars literally and worked on them to and i just got my first Honda/Acura this year planned on building it and selling it but i fell in love im coming out of the mini trucking scene (i miss it) to this. hondas are so easy to build and cheap to make fast compared to some. everything is basically bolt on i am used to my truck being down all winter just for a small mod. anything thats fast and helps me pick up chicks is cool to me

I can definately agree on that. They could've changed the wheels to something else. But that car is from Austrailia. And you still can't deny the 1000hp claim. But once you get past the wheels, it's a beast.

But, and tell the truth, aren't these "few arguments" basically valid? Don't the majority (and I mean high majority) think that Civics are the only cars out there worth modifying? Aren't Civics the most popular car out there to modify? Doesn't (pretty much) every single Civic out there have at least 20 twins out there? I'm not bashing this thread. Just pointing out facts. First off, I have had 4 Civics. None of them being your average, everyday one. A 1983 HB, a 1983 SW, a 1977 1200 and my current car...a 1979 CVCC.

Civics are the most boring, predictable cars on the road. You don't need a crystal ball to accurately guess as to what that car will look like in a few months. When these cars first started appearing on the roads, modified, I was one of who who broke his neck trying to watch it until it got out of sight. But that was one million, two hundred fifty-three thousand five hundred and thirty-four modified Civics ago. And that's just in Gwinnett and Clayton Counties. There is pretty much not one thing a Civic owner can do to their car that hasn't been done at least 20 or more times already. Except for hanging teddy bears on the back of them. And there's a reason no one does that.

And the people that truly believe that Honda is God's gift to the racing world?

For a civic tires/rims, headlights is as far as I would go. They get great gas mileage. Slow as all get out. But I personally believe, they are always meant to be go slow, and trying to do otherwise, is pointless.

QD there are certainly ignorant owners of nearly an car make/model. Its just that I find it very ironic that most people who dont own hondas and constantly bash them also tend to fall within some sort of stereotype themselves in what they drive and how they are modified.

Hondas in general are very popular because they are easy to modify and see results with a minimal amount of money invested. Same reason 240s are popular. Having owned several hondas and worked on ALOT of others, i appreciate their design and lego-like interchangeability. Infact the only thing i really dislike is the fact that some people are so scared to seem like a conformist that even if they see a nicely done honda they won't give it any respect. Yet these are usually the same people who usually drive a 240, mustang, corvette, miata or some other car that have also been a part of the modified car scene.
