Default Is it common for the DA/DB integras to have weak axles?

Because i just broke the outboard part of the axle today, at the outer joint. This technically isnt my fault because someone did a half-a** job on the front suspension and caused it to break off when i was driving today. So, essentially i have to replace the entire front wheel hub along with the outer part of the axle. Not too big of an issue... Today, even though my axle didnt SNAP, my wheel hub broke off and now its causing me to have to replace the whole thing because of one stripped bolt/nut. Its just a P.I.T.A... |rant over|

Anyways, then i read something on google about one other guy having lots and lots of problems with his integra seeming to always snap axles. I was wondering, is this just a design flaw by Honda/Acura or what?? Am i gonna have to always be worried about my CV axles?

hmm, I would make sure a reputable shop installs it and has a warranty along with it. If you do it, if it happens again, you're SOL. Unless you're strapped for $$$.

And no, its not common, but it does happen if things are not done to a suspension properly

Well, i kinda dont see it happening again for a long time because the ppl who had the car before me stripped the one bolt that holds the entire wheel hub on(circled in red)... ill show you a pic. What im gonna do is just replace the entire wheel hub and that way i wont have to worry.

Give them a break axles are only like say what 18yrs old lol. I broke one when trying to heat up drag radials, but axle boot had no grease in it thats why ,and had a passenger so added weight bust boot and drag radial = broken axle.Other than that nope no broken axles.

got it maybe two or three days ago

Besides, its all good cuz i decided to go ahead and take the dive and just replace the WHOLE left front axle/wishbone/control arm set. Took me three hours to replace the rotor, CV axle, lower control arm, upper control arm, and steering. lol, and THIS TIME i know for a fact it wont be coming off because ive got every nut and bolt i possibly could reach torqued down to between 40 and 90 ft-lbs of torque. :idb:
