    Default valvetrain for skunk2 pro3's

What springs and retainers would be best for my ls/vtec running skunk2 pro3's. Haven't purchased them yet but want to run them. Any advice from people who have used them???

    thanks in advanced

Thats a big cam, Ill have to check the coil bind numbers on a few diffrent sets of springs but probably the Ferrea setup.

you MUST use SKUNK2, an you must run their PRO series japanese CNC Springs. Ferrea will not work an neither will omni, rocket, blox, etc.

You can try but you will coil bind an wear rockers out or drop a valve.

if your installing the cams yourself and not checking valve to valve or valve to piston clearance then your crazy. depending on the setup the valves need to be sunk into the head and spring install height needs to be set to protect from coil bind even with skunk2's valvetrain. you can't just throw them in with the cams and expect nothing to happen.

if not we might see another i blame skunk2 for my stupidity thread pop up real soon.

my advice is to let a good machine shop or engine builder check everything for you unless you have to tools and knowledge to do it yourself.

i myself also have pro 3's and after switching from a cam around the same size before everything was checked again to make sure it was good. i.e. coil bind, spring tension at seat and spring install height.
