My Rx-7 was $4000 and I apparently payed more than you can get them for. Let me ask you why you chose a 4 banger grocery getter with front wheel drive over a car like mine, or a 240, or something else with a rear wheel drive or at least more power maintaining FWD? Don't say reliability because the only thing wrong with my car was from me smashing into a boulder, after 3 years of owning the car, and daily driving it, NOTHING broke.

So you did a motor swap to get rid of the LX's 1.5L for the EX's 1.6L which to me don't make any sense. For the effort, you could've dropped in either a B16a1 or even a B18 (take your pick, VTEC or not). So only "upgrading" to a SOHC 1.6 don't sound like much progress.

the car came stock with the 1.6 vtec smartie pants. Btw, I can do my preaching on the magfinicant HONDA brand wherever I want. Lose the mazda (built by ford) and get a HONDA
