Default any jrsc's on here run these

First i would like to find any people on here who has or messed w/ a jackson racing super charger. I've had mine for close to a year now and love it. its on my d16z6. Im running the pulleys from the kit so im hitting 6lbs of boost. has anyone increased there boost over 8lbs. im thinking of getting these http://www.theoldone.com/components/blower%5Fpulleys/ the stepper pulleys at the bottom of that page. they make 8lbs of boost but i was thinking if i can hit a little more it would be better before i get these, but i don't want to have to sleeve or anything. thx

well after the hondata and a good tune, the 8lb stepper pulleys, and then an obx lsd, i hope to be running in the 14's w/ a full out street car w/ my heavy 17 in. rims, and full interior

yeah its a big difference, i installed it myself with 2 friends and a weekend. it runs fine right out of the box but for better streetability take it to a tuner for a hour or 2 to get it tuned. you can usually find a used on for less than $1000. but i bought mine new as well no hassel. it lowered my 1/4 mile 2+ sec.

i hate meth injection and stuff like that but i believe that its purpose would be relevant when going beyond 9 psi on a JRSC, THEY GET HOT. I had one in the past and in hot weather with 6 psi on a b16a, it would rattle a little on the top end. I love them though, im thinking of doing an LS vtak with one on my white car just to have some fun.

yeah in really hot weather it likes to try and get hot on me but with the wrapped headers and cooler temp termastat. it stays cool under the hood and the engine itself

i am running 11-12 psi on my jrsc.. You really need to make sure you have the proper tune and fuel management for your setup... I dunno what jrsc you have, but jrsc said their blower will go up to 15 psi max... I am running the Eaton gen IV JR62 blower on my DC-5...

You can find out by calling up Keith @ Moss Motorsports(Jackson Racing), he heads up the Honda JR r&d and tech support.. He will be able to answer your questions.. 805-679-7019

But you are right, after a certain psi, you will generate too much heat and the iat will shoot up and thats not good... BTW, def. run Hondata with it..

well I'm sorry but IMO a supercharger on a small 4-cilinder engine just sucks. They work good on a big V8 though ..

so why not just sell it and find a small turbo that would outperform the JR with similar throtle response ?

with this setup, I see no more than 160whp ..

yea i know you can get more out of a turbo, and that the smaller turbos have hardly nbo turbo lag if any at all but im running this jrsc b/c the install was easy, easy to tune, less of a headache, and great for a daily driver. if i ever want to get into high horse power hondas i'll have to go turbo but for the price and power, plus the overall streetability and fun of the supercharger i'll just stick to it. plus it's not to hard to get 160 on my d16z6 out of it, i'd be really close w/ the 8lb pulleys if not over the 160 mark plus people are running over 10lbs of boost on jrsc's

if you go over 8psi then you'll want to get the air to water cooler modification that they do down in FL - I think it's LHT that does those kits.

there's a huge thread on h-t about the jrsc. People are pushing 300whp with stock motors and air to water intercoolers.

The thing about roots type blowers is the amount of torque available from idle to redline - this really wakes up the honda motors because they are normally deficient in the tq area. For a daily driver, they are a lot of fun. I may try one out on my hatch just for ****s and giggles.

yeah i checked out lht performance a while back, but too much for my wallet right now, maybe a long time down the road. I'm getting a lsd after the 8lb pulley and a hondata s300 w/ a tune. im just looking for a high 13 sec driver. you should get one, on the street they can kick some ass

ill go ahead and list my setup-
    z6 motor/obd1 conversion to a p28.-came with car
    jrsc m45 blower(i bought used, $900 shipped)
    3.2' blower pulley(ordered from JR, +2-3 psi)$100
    d16y8 crank pulley(largest d series crank pulley, good for +1-2 more psi)$30
    hondata intake manifold gasket-$50
    ebay 4-2-1 header-$100
    dsm 450cc injectors-$80
    ebay intake-$50
dayco 780k4(i think) belt-($20 overnight shipped)
MSPi 2.5' exhaust, no cat, magnaflow muffler-$300
6 puck clutch(previous owner installed, idk brand)
    short shifter(came on car)
    pcv catch can-got it on a trade-free
fmu that came with the jrsc(scotty at MSP said it would be fine as long as it was tuned)-comes with JR unit
finally tuned by scotty at MSP=170whp/145wtq-$280 for 2 hours dynotime
=$1910 for setup more or less. and ran even with a lightly modded 01 mustang GT. low end tq owns.

IATs were about at the max allowable, the hondata intake gasket helped cool some. any more than 9-9.5 psi i would suggest you look into a LHT or methanol, but i don't know how you can make more boost without the JR crank pulley upgrade(bigger crank pulley than a d16y8) but they discontinued that pulley upgrade awhile back. finding it will be hard. and it will be used if you do.
as far as i know, the alternator stepper pulleys are only available for the B series kits.
switching pullies will mean switching belts. try searching www.superhonda.com for a thread i(ksniperfox) had posted while searching for a method to determine which belt for which pullies. there is a nifty calculator that you can use to find which size belt you need for which pulley combo.

oh yeah, i did track it once. it was the first time id ever been to the track. launching at less than 3k, i got a 14.8 with a passenger and spinning through 1st-2nd. less weight, a higher launch, and some stickier tires would net you a considerably better et.
for comparison, there was a d16a6 crx with just a 50 shot running 14.7s, making much less power than me. just shows i can't drive, lol.

im running a loittle over 6 lbs right now b/c im not running a belt on the ac compressor and with some more practice im sure i can get down into the low 15's in thew 1/4 but w/ the 8lbs boost pulleys and a good tune i should hit a high to mid 14's in the 1/4 but my car is more of a driver than a drag car. i love it on the street. Maybe i should start a new thread on here dedicated to the supercharger. any one second that motion.

cool, yeah im thinking of the y8 crank now so I'll be at around 9.5 lbs of boost. thanks for the ideal. now i have to get a y8 crank for $30 and then the stepper pulley. I'll put those on myself and then get the hondata s300 and get it tuned properly.

go w/ seperate tuning for sure, jacksons little black box is trash if you run anythng higher then what it comes with - I ran an eaton m62 on my SVT focus w/ a miata pulley and upped boost to 12psi, trashed about 3 of em before goin w/ Superchips tune

blowers wont make the most power compared to a turbo, but its a good increase all around and great on a daily, as maintenance free as you can get w/ boost lol

Okay, im new here and I have a question.
I have a JDM H22A in my 95 Accord and im looking to boost it. Not by much, maybe 4-7 psi max. A lot of people say go turbo but a few thinks a SC would definately be better, since the compression is slightly higher on those motors. Sure the H22 has plenty of room in the engine bay for a turbo but I dont think the H22 can hold the boost.

    Any ideas or suggestions???

jackson racing don't make a s/c for your engine. you can do a custom setup with a Eaton unit like jackson racing(moss motors) uses but lots of money in custom fab work and not worth it in my opinion. just get a small turbo and keep it below 6psi of boost, all you internals will be ok but you injectors will need to be changed to dsm 450 injectors w resisters or rc engineering 440's. the smaller turbo will give you hardly any turbo lag. Unless you can find a s/c made for ur engine, i'd go for a small turbo. then again I've never dealed w/ jdm engine build, most of those are n/a i believe, b/c octane is your real limiter.

really you should start a new thread on you question, more people would help out on these i believe. i really dont know jdm engines very well except they get higher octane in japan and can run higher compression on their street cars.
