Default Engine swap in a civic

I have a civic and i was just wondering which would be better for me... should i do an LS swap or a D15B swap(vtec)? anyone prefer one over another. give me some inputs if possible. =D
but.. power? =D i think LS has more potential but i really dont think imma be boooosting unless i crave it. i just wanna be able to chirp second.

come you diiicks! i want INPUTS!!!!! if LS, i have to wait a while so i can save money lol. i wanna satisfy with power if i get either of these.

    ANYWAYSSSSSSSS reps for inputs

I say the LS , you'll get more torque out of an LS than you'll get out of a D15.

Ohh yea anybody can chirp 2nd, just come of the clutch a lot quicker after you shift lol

wow- such different directions- since I am cheap I stick with the D15- it is easy to fix and cheap to pick up a new one.

I dont know, I drove a stock VX hatch, which is what has the d15b2, and I drove a stock si hatch, stock for stock I think the Si was more fun to drive.

Plus my buddy had an eg hatch with a z6, just a chipped ECU, Stage3 clutch, and a muffler/intake, and that was fun to drive, maybe just because the clutch was agressive.

Chirp 2nd?? My stock CRX HF 1st gen did that, my CRX SI (EF) would SPIN the first three gears with the D16A6 in it with bolt ons and a stage 2 clutch.

Go D15B VTEC, different, easier to work with, cheaper, etc. I had one and was swapping it in a hatch but sold the project.

I say JDM D15B or D16Z6 would be your best option. NOW HOLD ON... lol im a DOHC guy, no doubt, but those motors are very affordable and very boostable. as soon as you get bored with them (and you will), D series turbo projects are cheap and yield big power gains. Ideally? get a Z6, and start saving for boost. That way you dont have to save forever for a swap and you have something to tide you over til you go the FI route.

i mean... for just a bit more torque, is it worth the money? i think i can get the swap from my friend for about 200-300 for the D15B but LS might run me 1000+. so is it really worth it?

    hmm yes & yes.

you are pretty much going in a more money wise situation unless you are planning to convert the auto2manual conversion unless you are keeping it how it is.... i wonder how it would be to have a automatic GSR .. hmm i've heard of these custom gears .. where it is automatic gears that you switch in yourself, but it has like 7-10 gears that you go through .. w/o clutches.. iono i might hav ebeen dreaming about this.. hahaa any1

hmm from experiece's from both the motors.. if your cheap and just want to slap something easy & go from the gecko.. i'd say the JDM D15b if your friend, but if you want something a little more torque & play.. i'll say LS all the way.. and just asking iloveboost he built a pretty nice setup for the LS and he was 600+ i think.. and i personally own a LS and I dont like it, but it takes me from point A to point B. and whenever it comes to it, it'll get the job done ....(SOMETIMES) haha.. . to enjoy something and easier to gain more power i'd say LS in my book

and dont get me wrong, i've had a hatchback with a JDM d16b and that thing hulles ass .. and the camshaft in that thing is way better then any other dseries motor i've driven.. hope this souup you up . on gett'n a LS because i do believe you & your girl test drove my buddys DB7 ..
