Default a good manifold and turbo for h22

soon im going to turbo my h22a ek, and im only going to boost 7-9 lbs because im not building the bottom end quite yet. but im curious as to what turbo and manifold would be good. and also would an internal wastegate be better or worst than an external one. stories from personal experiences are appreciated.

    Check out Treadstoneperformance.com

Good turbo kits for a good price.

If you want to piece one together, check out the STICKY at the top of this forum that has detailed list on parts needed.

YOu will want a LOG MANIFOLD and a T3 or small t3/t4 turbo. YOu want something with a good powerband, that doesnt make alot of top end power and will be laggy.

pm annihilation for the parts. cast iron turbo manifold is the best and cheaper than most to. they will never break. i am happy with mine.

better build it soon! h22's cannot hold boost if your life counted on it. Ancly T's before he built it i believe blew after like a month at 6 psi or less?

yesssir, my ringlands went out at 6psi after about 3-4 months IIRC

    i went with a drag log manifold and a turbonetics t3/t04e .63

    i made 225whp @4psi and 250whp @6psi and was spanking low 300whp evo's on the hwy.

    it just didn't last long..

sounds like you DO want to eventually build so i would suggest going ahead and getting yourself a good tubular manifold. Mainstream can make you one or you can just buy one. Wanna keep ac and all that jazz then i suggest a custom one. get something like a gt30r or similar nonBB like an sc34 which is slightly bigger that will make stout power either way you go, until you get the hunger..but you may not. SC34 is a great mid power turbo. Supports gobbs of power either way you go.

I'd even look into an SC61. It's a good fit for the H22, stock or built; very streetable.

Just dont do what I did and but a turbo with a .48 A/R hot side. It spooled up quick, but turned blue in the face around 6,000rpm. I think a good turbo size would be a T3 60-1 with a T04S compressor housing. Any thoughts?
