i've swapped out my b16 cams for gsr cams. I say it wasn't worth changing them, cause there wasn't a noticable difference to me in overall acceleration.. there was a little more midrange around 5k or so..

Just go buy some ITR-CTR 00'-01' spec cams. Those are the best honda OEM cams. The gsr are slightly better than the b16, but not worth the swap.

nope get a set of CTR cams, they open more on intake side, but if you combine the CTR intake cam with a ITR exhaust cam i think thats the best bet, i'll look it up. after looking it up the ctr cams have more duration and i do believe they are a little more aggressive. remember 185hp out of a 1.6= 115.6/liter. heres the link to compare. and remember, put the dual valve springs on the exhaust side if your gonna rev, or to do on the safe side.

b16 are more for top end compared to GSR, but for boost GSR FTW

on my old crx i replaced the b16 cams with the b18c cams and noticed a good bit of mid range power. but I had the a1 and a be leave it has the weakest cams for the b16 line.

you are right. on the 2nd gen b16 the intake cam is way better. look at the link above. i noticed a difference after putting the jdm b16 in my si vs the us spec b16a2. the intake cam loves my aebs manifold and intake. thats my opinion.

i would say the gsr cams are better for na(in a b16) and better for boost than the b16 cams.

GSR cams are cheap $60ish and it made a difference on my OBD0 B16, 3-4 WHP/WTQ when I had it dynoed before and later. OBD0 B16 cams are the worst, OBD1 B16 cams aren't too bad but GSR is better than both.

why waste the time in installing a cam that will only give (according to kevin's dyno) extremely minimal gains? (and i use the word "gains" very loosely there)

If one is considering a cam upgrade, at the very least take PrefferedDuck's advice... that will be a nice turbo cam setup, or a relatively low level NA setup.

i have wanted type r cams in my car ever since the motor swap. on the first drive you heard a lot more from the front of the car than before and i know a type r intake cam is aggressive for an n/a build. gsr would be better for boost?? i've seen more turboed b18's than b16's.

it is not worth the time or the effort to change your stock cams to anything less than type r cams. plain and simple

that will work too. there is no big difference in any of the type r cams. I believe CTR's are the biggest though. You wouldn't notice a difference from any one type R cam to another.

from what i understand... if you have a B16A2... GSR cams will help... but the gains are very minimal.. but if you have any older version of the b16... they'll give you a few more hp... but like everyone said.. if you're gonna go through the work of changing cams... go for something better
