    Lightbulb 350 MX5

What do you have to do to fit a Chevy 350 into a MX5 ? And what wiring attachments do I need to get it running ? Any ideas would help .

You take your third gen Camaro, and just bolt the Miatas body panels to it's body; trying to make it look as stream lined as possible. Remember to get your gaps right!

Also, you go to google.com and type in the words "V8 Miata", and proceed on your merry, tire frying way.

Why the Chevy 350? Compared to a Gallo 24, itll give you a weight advantage without sacrificing the torque.

LOTS of swap options for Miatas lol.

Check out the swap section on Miata.net

Or check out Monster Miata they do V8 kits using the 5.0 I think.

Yeah Monster Miata sells everything you need to put a 302 in a miata. I think including the price of the car the motor and everything is suppose to come out to be just under $20k.

Depending on the year of the miata should be able to do it for half that. The entire conversion is $4k new... http://www.monstermiata.com/Monster_V8_Kit.asp

The 302 H O is better. it bolts right in you just have to make a few changes. I mean, you can do almost anything if you have the wrench skill and or the $$$$$$$$$$$

V8 swaps on Miatas are not cheap...if done right.
Other then a cool bling factor and that sweet V8 rumble there's not much point in it
if you want to go fast. A turboed motor or stroker motor will get you there and beyond alot cheaper.

Buy an old Mustang or F-150. Pull 5.0L engine and tranny. Buy V8 mount kit listed and linked up in above post. Follow instructions. Buy stock in your favorite tire brand.....

If you want more fun, bolt on a supercharger or turbo kit to the 5.0....

This is completely off topic, but I think I want to pick up a 1.6L Miata and boost it, keeping my 97 as a DD

350 = bad idea in a Miata because the distributor is at the back. 302 doesn't have that problem, distributor is in the front, letting you shove the engine farther back.

When it comes down to it, the Miata was built to be perfectly balanced with the engine it's got. Swapping anything else into it corrupts the feel of the car, to me anyway.

Despite that, I recently started on a V6 swap into my second Miata, but aborted it in favor of something cheaper and much, much faster.

It would have worked out quite well though. Ford 3.8 V6/Borg Warner T-5 tranny, it all fit very nicely...
