all that about the skyline at the ring is old. and the only reason it beat the gt3 is b/c thats the time that the type 2 NUR or w/e version that is ran. the set that car up PERFECTLY for that track. the gt3 comes factory only 1 sec. slower on a ~12 mile track.

a skyline is just a hyped up tank with alot of power.

Finally somebody said this. And all the people who said GT3 is ****, I hope you were joking. If you'd rather have a skyline then the Porsche, you've killed too many brain cells. Don't get me wrong, a skyline is an awesome car, and I do know it's got power and potential, but it's still only a Nissan. You can make it fast, or handle good, but it's never gonna have a character or that exquisite look you get in a European car.
A Porsche will always be a Porsche, a classic sports car that has a history. It's always gonna have character, looks, and prestige.

Sports cars are created in Europe, not on the straights of Kansas, or the roads of Osaka.

And now I bet a bunch of biased japanese-car owners are going to bash me, and say that the Skyline is the best thing human beings ever invented.
And before you say anything, or bash the European cars (which unfortunately what this thread came down to), look at this (now you don't have to wonder what Nissan engineers decided to make a copy of):

Audi did not invent AWD. They just combined it with rally car and it was successful. What's wrong with Nissan combined AWD with their car? R32 GTR won 24 out of 24 races in group A races back in the days. As far as I can remember, Audi did not.

I agree with the point of owning a Porsche rather than a Nissan though.

My word that is a fast automobile. It's soooo much faster than I thought it would be...

Like most, I don't care for the styling, but I'd imagine Nissan will refine it with time. Nissan nailed the design on the 350z, and G35; don't know why it's so hard to do with the Skyline.

Audi was the first to put the all wheel drive in a light weight car, rather then having it in an SUV.

I am not bashing skyline, yes its nice, especially for the money; I do hate the fact that everybody started bashing the European cars, that why I even posted in here.

I'd rather take a GT-R than a Porsche. It's "only" a Nissan? Big f*cking deal. Get off the high horse and look at the car itself rather than the badge. You talk about character? Aside from a Carrera GT or Cayman, I've yet to see anything from Porsche since the 80's that's been even relatively exciting to me. It's more like they're rehashing the same old sh*t over and over again. It's boring and before you make any backlash, yes I have driven them. They're fun little sports cars, but they're definitely not the cars that they used to be. Want to sell me a European car? Give me a BMW anyday.

Then you talk about having history. I wasn't aware that the GT-R had no racing history. I'm assuming then that you don't want to talk about how it practically dominated the JGTC then? My apologies.

noone can back up any claims for the gtr without facts.. only time will tell.

Fast car and fast driver.

Ran, you said it best. I am starting to hate newer cars because of the electronics.(Porches, Nissans and anything else) I felt complete detached from my MS3. Was it quick? Hell yes. Was it fun? eh. I have a lot of respect for cars pre-00'. A time when the ecu didn't dictate the cars characteristics and make up for driver mistakes.

right now,i think Benz and Audi are the best german cars....well,imo..lol
