I don't mind the fact that Civics and 240's are super common, I just don't like 240's because so many people want to make them mad awesome drift machines, and that's just gay. I was thinking about this the other day, and I think it is more common to see a wanna be "drift" 240 than it is to see just a plain old dead stock 240.

not as bad assed as you think. My father, a mechanic for many years had a guy bring a raggedy '78 911 with 305 swap into the back. Car handled like ass, and the 305 idled horribly and was prone to overheating. It was pretty quick in a straight line though.
That being said, I've seen more poser civics than I've seen poser 240sxs. However, on the flip side of the coin, there are a ****-ton of raggedy 240sxs. Depends on what you like, but civics are teh gay in my book. You see too many of em around.

My buddy Tyler's dad has a Porsche 914 with a big wide-body kit and a 350 shoehorned into it. Thing was a nightmare to drive...in the sense that you always had to know exactly what you were doing, what you are doing, and what you plan to do. You can't let up for a second at speed. Haha...it's a blast. I'm gonna go get a photo of it. The body's fallen to **** but it's still barely drivable.

I really wanted a 944 a while ago. I've seen people do LS1/2 or LT1 swaps in them...and apparently, it doesn't mess up the weight distribution too badly.

I like the 240SX...always have. I like rear-drive coupes...I like how they look, especially S13 coupes with JDM front ends. Being me though, I'd drop an LS-series engine in...and if that's the case, why don't I just buy a Camaro SS or a GTO?

I voted 240SX, having owning both, I can tell you I traded my S13 coupe for a much slower EG hatch. Why? I felt horribly gay driving a 240 and telling people I drive a 240. They are so...boring. Sure a Civic is boring, but it is fun to play with and can be made to handle really well for really cheap.
Plus like mentioned, SR SR SR SR is all you hear, and drift dori touge drift it ya....it's all lame.
BTW coolest 240's are the built SOHC KA24E machines
