JDM has the block stamped B16A
USDM block is stamped as B16A2

The last digit on the block is sortof like a destination code. Since they were made for cars in japan, Japanese cars dont have them. Motors going into cars in other areas have digits stamped on them
The OP didnt specify whether it was a B16B or B16A. So to generalize the answer, Motors that come out of cars from Japan do not have a digit at the end
