    Default Corolla, Celica --Similarities??

Hey ive got(getting) a 2000 Toyota Corolla, 1.8L. Dunno too much about it, but from brief research, it seems that the motor is the same as the Celica. Somebody let me know! I wanna slap some Celica performance parts on that 'rolla. In fact, I'd like to bolt up like a six-speed manual from a Celica on there, a turbo at some point and possibly a cam or something. Im open to suggestions and Id like some info if anybody knows, links etc. Thx.

Sounds like your willing to drop a pretty sizable investment in a Corolla... If an affordable turbo yota is what your looking for, why not snatch up an all-trac celica?

head over to www.trdforums.com and then hit up Dr. Tweak. I think he's somewhere on this board as well. He lives in Savannah and does engine swaps into corollas and celicas. As to my knowledge the engines on both Celica and Corolla are the same but the ECU is different.

The motors are the same (1zzfe in the GT celica, most corollas) and the Celica GTS and Corolla XRS share the 2zzfe, so cams etc should interchange, but the parts themselves may be different due to body differences

I have an 8th gen corolla and those engines I believe are the same as some of the last gen celicas.
