    Default Need Tires! help!?

So im on the market for tires. if anyone can help.. (im bad with tires)

    First:

    Tire size??

What size should i go with? For 19x8.5 and 19x10 wheels??

I want little protection of the rim, so maybe 275 are a little short? 285 maybe? idk what is the tire size range i can go with?

    Stock wheels tire size:
    I have Front:205/50/17 and Rear:255/40/17
18" Porsche option wheels are Front:225/40/18 and Rear:265/35/18..

    Second:

    Tire brand??

-I had brand new continental sport contact 2 on my car, and i really liked them, until i realized 5k miles later they were dead.. (280 treadwear)
-p-zero's are pricey and the way i drive, i cant afford 220 treadwear
    -Toyos 280 rim protector

I am actually wanting to try new tires, alot of smaller brands are making really good tires for cheap and are getting really good reviews online (ie. tyretest.com and tirerack.com)

either way, tires wont last long so if I don't like them, it wont be for long..

--General Exclaim UHP seems to have really good reviews and supposedly performed better that some Michelin's. no other tires can compete with the price. They are 91-96W and 380 treadwear! (~$620 a set!!!!)

    Tirerack tire survey

--Vredestin ultrac sessenta, have really good reviews and are 98Y and 280 treadwear. rim protector (~870 a set)

    Vredestein video

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Porsche recommends Pirelli/Michelin/continental.. but they are too pricey or the treadwear isn't appealing.. 1500 for michelins (220 treadwear), 1200 for pirellis (220 treadwear), and 1250 for continentals (280 treadwear).. thats more than double the price.. ever 5k miles

PM Boomer27, he can get you a hell of a price on some of the better tires [Mich, Pirielli and Conti's, as well as BFG, Falken, Sumitomo, and some other crappy brands that I would recommend]
