heh. You've never seen how I mod cars. Some friends and I built a 12 second car for under $2500. $10k is a ton of money.

for 10k.. id rebuild my short block and make it even more bullet proof then it already is.. id get an aem ems for the single going in and make sure the car is stable at mid to high 400s with a t-61...

You can get a crate LS6 for $5,800 brand new with 405hp. Lighter, more powerful, cheaper to upgrade, & normally aspirated :goodjob:

Junkyard 6.0s are like $1200. L92 heads are $1000. A cam would be like $500. Get some 500+hp for less than $3000.

I would street port the 8, get some Ianetti ceramic apex seals, greddy turbo kit w/ mazdamaniac upgrade, cobb access port, that should put me at close to 400whp (for real).
