Is there any shop here in Atlanta that does the vq swap 240sx?
Is there any shop here in Atlanta that does the vq swap 240sx?
dk but i saw one at formula drift, forgot the website tho
waste of time and money
u really cant do much to the VQ motors, i mean u can boost them to make "ok" power but thats like $7K for the kit, and all the piping wouldnt even work. i say RB26 or 2J ftw
ooo really i was think rb25 neo 6
i dun plan on making more than 450 or so
yeah there is a shop in atlanta somewhere. they had a stand and card at drift atl
i will choose the vg30dett over the vq
but then again i'm all about the rb
to tell you the truth...the VQ is not the best engine to modift, sure you can turbo it and get a lot of power out of it but your gonna have to dump some serious cash into it and do it right so you dont blow the engine due to its fragile aluminum block....just a heads up, but a stock one in a 240 would be pretty quick
VG in a 240 is shitty....they weigh so much[compared to KA, CA, or SR] that they throw the balance of the car totally off. I mean, sure, it's baller and makes lots of power, just dont try to turn fast or slide it too effective.
If your gonna spend the money for a VQ I say go LS V8...stronger, light, tons of mods, etc etc
true ls1 ftw
you gonna spend a couple grand either way you go, didnt someone just spend 14k for a 2j swap. any way go to vqswap.com i think its the same people who did the 2j swap that was featured in the mags
About to approach beast mode
So much for talking out of your ass. The VQ35DE with no accesories weighs 330#, the same as the KA24DE. Although accssories can add up quite quickly, but that may or may not be a problem. But according to Mr. EP3, don't try to turn with that car or it'll flip!!!Originally Posted by KPowerEP3

Please tell me if you think my car looks good. But don't tell me if you think it's ugly - only on IA
Krappy:
do an LS1, its lighter than a KA, produces more power, and has more potential
we can do it

i thought of going na reliablity and no lag and power
Think a stock vq in a 240sx chasis that is gutted will be more than enough . Power band on the vq is perfect for a drift set up . Plus the light weight of the 240 is not a bad idea .
If you want to swap a n/a engine into the 240... ls1 ftw!
Shaun
while everyone is talking crazy swaps. I wonder if you could do an 03-04 terminator cobra motor swap into a 240 that would be sick probably couldnt but still....

Time to re-read it, douche. I said VG. Nowhere in my post did I say a word about putting a VQ in a 240.Originally Posted by yudalicious

no hard feelings man.Originally Posted by yudalicious
you would have had me if I did say VQ
I agree with the whole balance issue of the vq and the vg. Personaly since I'm biased there's nothing wrong with SR just because everyone has one doesn't make it a bad engine, but if want to do some crazy swap like you're thinking 2JZ or RB. As far as the LS1, no..............just no......

Why no to a LS1? Better then any motors you just named.
