    Default tire mounting/unmounting machine

    http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=34542

anybody have one of these? it says it works on car tires up to 16"x7.5". the miata has 15"s. i always have extra tires in the garage which i would put on if it wasnt for having to pay a shop $20-30 every time. fuck i might even start going to drift events if its this easy.

cool. it doesnt look too hard does it? it says he did it in 10 minutes, though a car tire might be harder to do...

doesnt look hard, but id imagine itd be pretty tough to stretch the tire like that... who knows. but for 50 bucks give it a go :P

wouldnt you have to pay for balancing after anyways?

Hrmm, I've mounted/unmounted tires before and they're not too hard on high profile tires but I can't imagine mounting low profile tires on that machine, I think it'd be a head ache because doing low profile tires on a real machine is already hard enough.

Well the sidewall in that size isn't exactly alot but on a normal machine I'm sure I could do it fairly easy .. I can't say for the $50 machine though.

Don't do it. That's for small trailer tires they have thin side walls. Car tires are harder.
You can do it but after changing one or two you will want to pay someone.

mounting a tire is more hazardous than you think.. if you mount the wrong anything, you can die, or be paralyzed... one guy is in WA
