    Default 90's sports cars

So we all remember the 300zx,,3kgt,rx7 and supra. Now we have the 350z,evo (the smaller 3kgt but just as heavy)rx8. So do you think toyota would make something (supra)? They dumbed up the mr2(132hp) and the celica isnt a sports car. Side not thought the mitsu FTO looked neat but slow. Anyways any talks on this? Or do you think they wont becasue of gas mileages and crap.

I haven't seen a sports car listed in the post above 'cept for maybe the 3rd gen RX-7.

By the way, the MKIV Supra TT is only about 150lbs lighter than most year model 3KGT VR-4s. The 300ZX TT was a heavy beast as well.

To answer your question, most people (including most car enthusiasts on this forum) could not afford a new Supra TT or 3KGT VR-4. The same with the 300ZX TT.

My '97 VR-4 ran $47,500 new. The Supra TT was around the same price as well. The 300ZX TT wasn't far behind. This is back in the mid '90s, remember. Not many people and no *teenagers* has this kind of cash laying around.

Nothing is gay about a 500hp v10 that revs to 8500 RPM.

A "V" config isn't the best for making a lot of horsepower in comparison to the Inline-6. It has to deal with the engine's balance.

I thought a INLINE 6 used less effort to get hp and was easier on the motor.

Don't make me post the rotary pic again.... Late 80's early 90's were the best years. Hell my current car is a '91. Not because I can't afford better. I choose not to. 16yrs old car FTMFW!!!

    i dunno

    the evo for example

    Nurburgring Track times:

    8:05 --- 152.907 km/h -- Porsche 997 Carrera S
    8:11 --- 151,274 km/h -- Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX

at almost $100k less, does that make it not a sports car?

no it doesnt it makes it a fast sedan.
    -IA MGMT is inappropriate.

LOL, 4 doors is not a sports car. Fast, yes. But being able to go fast while carrying 2.5 kids and the dog does not make it a sports car. Although I've always wanted an EVO IV.

just an example i would use the Z car as an example, how is that not a sports car lol

the z32 twin, how does it differ from the FD twin, Its slower obviously, but all of the rest is there (just like it is with the evo),

    the Zcar legacy (evo legacy)
the Zcar was at one point nissan's flagship.

I'm not hating or nothing, I just want to know what makes the FD a sports car as opposed to the z32 twin or the supra twin(two of my fav import sports cars btw)... It performs better at certain things.

And the evo IS a sports car... lol sports sedan, and a sedan is a car so sports-car
    walaa

Maybe the Z32 coupe, but not the 2+2. For the most part, sports cars aren't supposed to be *that* heavy.

The Supra, however, IS a GT, not a sports car. That's like grouping the Mustangs in with "sports cars" as well. No.

    the z32TT didn't come in 2+2

and even the 2seater is heavy as shit

but I fail to see how that would make it not a sports car, thats like its purpose in life, to carry on the Zcar tradition....

I had a similar argument with a friend a few weeks ago he was like true sports cars are mid engine rwd, cars that weigh shit and etc and etc... i'm like dude you're retarded

This must be the definition of "sports car" by these definitions.

    Mid engine
    2 seater
