    dude dont give others advice when you have no idea what your talking about. Mitsu didnt change anything on the 9 trannys except the input shaft so the tranny dont break when a dumbass tows the car on two wheels. And no the 9 rs does not have the same 1-4 as the mr.

    Wrong. The hotside of a 05 evo 8 is the same hotside as the 06 evo 9. The difference is the compressor housing. Also the 9 has mivec. Also the mr's and rs's have lsd.

    Hey dave dont take some of the advice that was givin here, some people really dont know what theyre talking about. If you wanna know all the pros and cons and stuff like that on the evo 8's 9's just hit me up sometimes, trust me i already did my research.

    Actually, you are wrong. I have done my research and know what I am talking about. Mitsu did change the gear ratios and although I was wrong when I said it was the exact same gearing it is similiar

    Evo 8 and Evo 9 trannies do have different ratio's... most specifically the 1st on an IX is stronger and VERY slightly longer (not enough to really care)... and the 4th on an VIII is a bit taller. The 5th on the IX's have a different input shaft and several later production VIII's have variants of the 5th input shaft. There's a lot more to than too when it comes to just trannies... I know all this from talking to Jon Ripple for half an hour. That guy's a genius.

    Evo VII is a retarded idea. We live in the USA... but then again, you have pockets deep enough to make the Grand Canyon jealous.

    Buy my Evo and run the car on WG pressure, 87 oct, and pull out all the timing... you might make the 450whp goal you want then... otherwise, I'd get an Evo IX SE... they look the nicest stock and you can fart on an IX and make 400whp.

    hmm....
    i just want a reliable quick car, and i like the look...it will be stock for a long while once i get it more than likely...but i still dont know...i am still debating...
    cause i have a couple cars i want...


    titan(but is a truck and bad gas mileage)
    evo(bad gas mileage)
    g35(relaible, decent gas mileage, and sexxxy!)
    skyline stock r33(gas mileage eh not soo good, hard to find parts)

    Actually, an evo 7 is not a retarded idea, if you can deal with the emissions. They're not that expensive, and you could probably get one for about the same price that USDM versions are going for, at least the newer ones. I am no evo expert, by all means, but I know that the 7 is a bad mf. Even the seat bolsters are narrower for tiny japanese asses
