    Default 350z or Supra

Hey guys im in the market for a 03-05 350z or a 93+supra. The proble is I just cant decide on which one.

    350z
Goods: The 350z is an amazing car on the market and has alot of great stuff to offer like A 280HP (300HP for the rev-up version) VQ35DE. the enigne is very powerfull stock and there are a decent amount of aftermarket parts out there like the APS TT and more. The body styling is pretty good looking and has a look like no other(besides g35). there newer, they will have about 20k to about 50k for the ones that are in my price range($20,000) which means it will be very depedbable which is good for a daily driver.
Bads: Only 2 seats! in my case thats a problem cause this will be my daily driver and will be my only car for a wile so i will probaly need to hold more than 1 extra person. alot of the twin turbo kits out there are under powerd and are over rated for there price like Greddy TT. Also the fact that they might not hold there value like the supras have, look at the 300zx. those were supra's competition and now you can get them for $12k or lower wile supras are about 20k at the lowest.

    Supra
Goods: (I dont want the non- TT.) Is conciderd one of the greatist import sports cars ever sold in the US. Its got lots of potential and it already has a good amount of stock power. Very rare, and there resale value has gone up and will probaly keep going up. They have back seats even though they are a tight fit at least they are there. So many diffrent aftermarket parts are out there for it. Targa tops are the coolest ever!
Bads: they are older, they have higher mileage so therefor they are less depedable. weight, the MKIV is heavier than the 350. The price is hard to find a TT for under $30k. hard to find especialy a good priced one.

so if you could tell me your opinion and what you guys think i should go with then that would be really apriciated. Or any info you could give to help me make my decision

BTW if i get the 350z i will twin turbo it with probaly APS TT

    thanks,
    Tyler

350Z Twin Turbo.. you'll like the tq. APS TT overrated? Drive one before you say that, it was by far the best mod I ever did and well worth the money spent.

If you don't get a TT Supra, get the 350Z.

    NA Supras are p00p.

i dint say that the aps tt was over rated. im talking about all these guys that get like the greddy tt and boost a stock block @ only 6psi. weres the fun in that especialy since you just spent 6k on a turbo kit that is "over rated". now the aps is kick ass.

its just its hard to find a decent supra TT for under 30k when my price range is 20k to 25k

I dont really like the g35 front or the tail lights

    ps: miatas are gay

My friend Kevin Has competed in the last 2 Grassroots Motorsports Challenges in his 91 miata. He's spend total including the car and everything $1978 and some change. the car has a BP (1.8) swap, custom turbo, custom coil over suspension, racing seats etc. It ran an 11.2 (4th fastest in the drag race) and ran the 2nd quickest Auto x lap, finishing 6th place over all. sounds pretty gay to me

As far as which of the 2 cars you should choose...i say 350Z if you keep it stock or BPU....you throw relaibility out the window when you get into the TT aftermarket.

Judging from your profile: Financial, short/long term needs

Buy and 06 350Z and Keep it bpu.

You need something reliable and moderately quick

    Generally 06 350z's will run 13's - 05 350z's will do that BPU.
03-04 are cool but watch the alignment issues.

(Remember when running 13's was the shit???)

We all know about the Supra TT. It's obviously a great choice, but will exceed your budget (money pits).

yeah the TT swap is like $10k to $12k and why do that when you could get a original tt for same price maybe less. but i was thinking the same thing fo a wile. but if sombody knows where to get a good swap for cheaper, let me know.

And yeah i need the tt power. the base supras are the same price as the 350z with less power and more miles so that wouldn't make since for what i need. but once you really do some reasearch i think that you relize that the tt is the only way to go.

couldn't u buy a non-turbo supra and swap a 2jz engine? cost less if i am not mistaken and you could have low miles on the engine.

i say get a supra...i have a Z and i must say its very hard and costly to get power out of. Its still a great car but the powers not there unless you get a TT and build your engine which can cost anywhere between 9K-25K on top of the price you pay for the car.

The supra already has the power and with a small upgrade you can go even faster.

    just my $0.02

Supra...the twin turbo 300zx is faster than the 350 stock for stock. in fact like 2-3 car lengths faster in the 1/4 mile.

    350z is a daily car...
    supra not so much...

supra-heavy, pricey for a decent one...

im a nissan guy but have the 2jz engine in my 240sx.

i say you either buy the G35 cause they look pimp and put some nice rims and be happy or if you want a race car then get the supra

Unless you have deep pockets, stay away from the Supra. It's a nice car, but I would never have it as my daily driver. Judging by your profile, insurance won't be cheap, and fixing a TT Supra isn't either. Just get a 350Z and save up money, or get a G35 and keep it stock. (I still don't get why you like a 350Z over a G35's looks, but beats me).

it just iv read a couple of articles of Miatas being the gay car, and sure there light and pretty quick. but i just really dont like how small they are and the body styling at all. i said nothing about them being slow i just said there gay IMO.

But the supra has backseats and this wont be a everyday driver, just about half and half cause ill have a truck or suv too

I would go for the supra. You are right about them being rare. I hardly ever see one and when I do. I take notice. 350s are a dime a dozen and everybody has one. Go for the supra

Get an R32 GT-R and call it a day. Light, fast, AWD, and will hold its value if you ever have to sell it. Well, so will the supra, but a 350z is a dime a dozen. I've had a supra TT AT and a skyline GTS-T. The skyline was more fun to drive, though not as fast. A GTR is that much better. I will hopefully, be picking up an R32 within a month. Anyways, good luck on your decision.
