    Default 2.3 sohc rebuild

    I need some advice on a good person to rebuild my eng. in my xr4ti does anyone have a good shop/person to recommend?

    Merkur is the almost version of the Cosworth sierra, the Merkur has the thunderbird turbo coupe engine ford 2.3 turbo, good engine just the steel head lacks enormous air flow. Merkur encyclopedia has a great amount of info on these maybe this might help

    www.turboford.org xlr8 is probably who would be the best authority on the 2.3 turbo SOHC motors. Also, i hear that the volvo heads can swap over to them and you can make good power. just do some looking about.

    Every single performance part and or modification it has was made in a factory somewhere.

    I think our setups are similar. good luck. get a head and port it alot, also oversized valves are nice. you have TBI dont ya? get rid of it. get forged everything.

    got any pics? xr4ti are pretty schweet

    Mine really dosn't leave the garage. People across the street think it is a tool bench.
