    Default Chrysler Crossfire

What do you guys think about the Crossfire? I've been looking around a little and I'm trying to decide between a few cars

I just sold my prelude and I've been driving a '94 Ford Ranger while I pay off some bills. Now that I've paid everything off, I'm looking for something fun again. What I'm really looking for is something $20k or less, '03 or newer, 25k miles or less, have HIDs and at least 200 horsepower. Lemme know what you think about the crossfire first, then give your suggestion. I WILL NOT BUY A MODDED CAR. Thanks!

I mean I'm also thinking about S2K, 350z, BMW 3 series, RX-8, RSX, TSX, etc etc but I was just wanting to see what other people thought about the Crossfire.

I'm not planning on modding it at all, so I don't care about aftermarket support for it. I might get wheels or something, but no exhaust/headers/whatever.

    But thanks for the input

S2K and 350Z are a step above the rest of those cars.

I always thought the Crossfire was hideous outside of magazines. I agree with VooDoo on the practicality part though. There are going to be times when you wish you had something to haul you and your friends around it. I'd personally look for something that could seat four people comfortable but still be fun.

Ehhh some people like the crossfire some don't. its really just a matter of opinion. There really isn't much room at all in the crossfire, but thats no different from a 350z or s2k or any other real sports car. I've thought about the TSX and...I don't know, its decent but you see so many of them around. I mean honestly, other than people who work at a dealership, how often do you see a Crossfire? I've seen maybe 2 this month. They aren't the most common car on the road, they do have good styling, 230hp, all luxury.

As far as practicality and seating, I only have 1 friend down here, my fiance. So I don't plan on carrying 4 people in my car. They can get a taxi.

Like I said, I won't be buying one until probably March/April when I get my taxes back and have a little extra money for a down payment. I'm not asking you guys to talk me out of it, I'm just trying to see what other people think about it

Crossfires are sexy...except for that ends-too-fast back end. The roadster looks better in that respect...since it actually has a bit of a back end...and the SRT6's spoiler seems to offset that styling flaw.

Rear visibility is garbage though, plus it's sort short on interior space...and mechanically, it's a pretty old car. It's a Mercedes underneath though...so it'll be pretty solid.

If you like it though, go for it. It's quite a nice car.

If not...go for the 3-series or TSX. They'll be more practical, and they're both still solid, stylish cars.

funny, if you do get one, you better get a manual transmission, because the transmission is going to break

i would also stay away from a 3 series, because services cost a ton.

all the others sound like great options

I really think that the TSX is your best bet. It just seems like you really like that Crossfire.

My friend has a TSX and it's great...very classy and very fun to drive.

anyone else have any input? I've thought about the S2K, 350, BMW, TSX, STi, EVO, SRT-4, etc. The first six are higher priced with under 10k miles. I saw a S2K with 29k for $18k. Most BMWs under $20k are 40+k miles. Too many people drive an SRT or 350z. It costs too much to get the STi or EVO how I would want them.

SO I'm thinking the Crossfire will cheaper for me since there's no aftermarket for it, so I won't even be tempted to want to buy other stuff for it. Plus you really don't see any of these on the road. I like the red, but at the same time I love a clean white car.

    INPUT PLEASE

yeah i saw that at the car show a year or 2 ago, it seems that it is just going to be a slow dodge viper, especially since they just upped power in the viper to 600 hp

my mom has one, i drive it alot on the weekends.

it turns heads, seems like people think its worth more than it actually is. (i live in villa rica) mechanically it's been an awesome car.

just like someone already mentioned rear visibility is next to nothing. that's my only complaint about the car.

Yeah the bmw is way overpriced for maintenance. a simple oil change is $85, but its a 15,000 mile synthetic oil. Of course you could do it yourself or take it somewhere other than the dealership, but i guess its just for the records.

The one thing I don't like about the X is the back window, but thats why they make mirrors. I test drove one this weekend and very much enjoyed it. It sounds much like the 350Z and is just one of those cars that turns heads.

Anyone at a dealership that can get one for me less than 10k miles, under $20k around march/april, let me know and i'll come see you!

i drove one that was traded in at work and wasnt impressed at all with the crossfire, the seats were very uncomfortable.. felt like leather wrapped cardboard. i also thought the car was somewhat underpowered for the stigma it gives off. for the money id think youd be better with a s2k.

if someone can find me an S2k, 350z, etc, '04-up with under 10k miles for $20k or less, let me know and I will consider it. When i can find one with 80 miles on it, just how I want it for $20k, that sounds like a better deal to me.

Shouldn't be a problem if you can drive a stick well...but the manual RX8 is pretty unforgiving.

I enjoyed it when i test-drove one a few months ago, but I didn't really like the whiny engine. Plus I dont know nearly enough about rotaries to get one.

I test drove an '07 mustang gt today. Ehhh it was so-so. too heavy to really do much. The salesman gave me the key and said take it for a spin. That put a little smile on my face. Unfortunately it was almost completely on empty, 7.7 miles remaining, or said the digital guage. I'm not a huge fan of the new style, but you gotta love that throaty v8.

... I'm hoping to be getting something within 1 month, so keep the suggestions and comments coming. Flame it up, I don't care

OHH I've been thinking about those, but the dealerships are too proud of them. If I were to choose one, it would be the sky most definitely. But i would kick myself if I bought one now instead of waiting 6 months for the red line. But trust me, this car has been in the back of my mind for a while. But here again, I still don't see myself dropping $27k for it. I have been checking around for a barely used one. Anyone see one under 10k miles, lemme know

uh oh, here comes the flaming. Don't ever say something is freaking fast, someone will always fight that!

Its pretty quick though. Where I drove it, there were only 35 mph zones, so i couldn't really get on it. But i was up to the speed limit in 1st gear

    IMO

Too heavy, overpriced, and underpowered. Ok on the styling. Seems to be one of those cars you love or hate.

Chrylser really dropped the ball on it from when it was a prototype. Similar to what GM did with the Xtreme and SSR.

I would choose any of the others over it, with the 350z being first choice. But I'm probably biased to nissan.
