They all force more CFM into a motor than it can process, flow vs. restiance = pressure/boost.

To really get a true answer you have to know about each device, limitations, effecenty, charicteristics, ect. ............. There is a world of diffrence between superchargers.................. enough to really group them seperatly.........even though they do basicly the same thing

    my pick of superchargers: twinscrew
Of course my car is turbo'd, but that's mainly because it was cheaper than a twinscrew............................

I guess I'm the only one that likes superchargers then. They are usually bolt on kits, are very reliable, improves the entire power band, fast off the line even at low rpm, and there isn't as much to worry about. I, however, am the only person on this board that doesn't care about HP though.

Apparantly there are two of us then! sweet

Power is not everything, suspension plays a larger role than the engine does... hands down.

If you correctly match the turbo to your set up, turbo lag is almost non existant. its only when you have a massive turbo on a tiny motor or is tuned wrong (or not at all) and possibly if you are running a journal bearing turbo is when you encounter "lag".

even on the stock turbo vehicles that i've driven, there is that split second of turbo lag right after you press gas. It annoys the SHIT out of me.

    Supercharger.

Better driveability and throttle response, especially on higher HP builds. The only downside is being driven off the engine.

The reason stock turbo cars are laggy is because og the tiny exhaust. the bigger the exhaust the faster the spool up.

Drive a stock Mazdaspeed MX-5, then drive one with an intake, exhaust, BOV (stock one leaks), and throttle body hardpipe (stock one is rubber). Night and day difference.

i was comparing stock turbo lag to larger aftermarket turbo in which case the stock turbo lag does not feel so bad. but yes i agree i/e does help.

it is once you put an exhaust on or move to a ball bearing turbo then almost all other turbos feel laggy

How fast is a emu from a dig? Do you increase response by applying Tabasco sauce to it's nether regions?
