A friend of mine is giving me a 87 Corolla FX (non gt-s) 5 speed that runs. I would like to make a little drift project out of it. What all would you suggest doing?

Like this one?
From what I gather, you could probably swap out the SOHC engine for a FWD 4A-GE and make a mean autocross car out of it. Take a look to see what suspension components are available for it. Good luck!![]()
Looks like an old-school Civic to me.
Exactly. Thanks for giving me a straight-forward answer and not being sarcastic due to lack of knowledge. +1Originally Posted by Ran Kizama

No problem. I did a quick google search and it looks like the car came available with two seperate engines. Seeing as how yours is a base FX, it should have the SOHC 1.6L Carburated 8-Valve engine. The FX16 came with, I believe, the DOHC 1.6L Fuel Injected 16-Valve. Not sure if it was a 4A-F or a 4A-GE series engine though. Also, keep in mind that my info is coming off of other websites so they could be off too. I think they're at least pretty close though.Originally Posted by unkn0wndj
Either way, I wouldn't think that swapping in a 20-Valve 4A-GE engine would be too tough. Whatever you decide to do, be smart about it and good luck.
Also, I found this for you...

Maybe they can help you out.![]()
you could do a 4age or even a 4agze into it and have a fun car. it would be alot of wiring though to convert to fuel injection.
My dad bought one of those new. He returned it the next day.
