Default what a start to the day.

    to summarize....

house got flooded by all the rain... put 3+ ft of water in our garage.... g8 and gto are probably ruined.

gto is soaked on the inside and blowin lots of smoke out the exhaust from all the water intake.

g8 is throwin dash codes like crazy.. idling is off.. keeps calling onstar emergency services... sounds absolutely horrible when you turn the car off and is also smoking like crazy.

so much for garage kept cars.

Do you have flood insurance w/ your home owners? If not better hope your auto covers it, insurance companies will screw you on water damage about flood insurance.

thanks man, i appriciate that. our insurance told us that if a car is flooded that usaully its automatically a total loss..... thats fine if its the g8.. it was stock and i can replace it cause i have found some more out there. the gto is a project my dad and i did and so its hard to know that it might be gone.

if either of the cars are a total loss, find out how much the buy back price would be from the insurance company. and send me a PM with that price, if i think its reasonable for the car i might give you that price+some on top for you. i'd love to have a project gto or g8.

it went 22inches up in the garage and about 35+ in our yard. only pic i got is when the water was starting to drain. this is about 12-15inches lower than what it was.

Is your garage "below" your house (i.e. your house is on a hill and the garage is exposed under the first story) or are those supports for the second story?

I'm interested to see what insurance is going to say. I'm sure that they have their hands full after these last few days.

That really suck, I hope everything works out on your favor... I had my race car when it was still my daily driver flooded with the engine running; it happen on a vac trip to Florida, and I was able to get it to run like a champ again....

Get the spark plugs out, take the fuel pump fuse out and crank the engine.... watch the engine become a water fountain... then get a hair blower and dry out each cylinder.... put some carb cleaner on each cylinder right before installing the hot plugs.... ohh BTW put the spark plugs in the oven at 220 degrees for 30min, install them while hot and it should crank right up...

    GL anyways.

Looking at the pic you can see it got deep enough for the compressor to flip upside down. Good luck with everything, Sucks to see stuff like this.
