Went to Steele Dragway last night. DA at the time of the run was +1685'. Car bogged like crazy and the staging lanes were too long to make another pass, but the car had 11's and 125mph in her if there weren't 2353573574567345^234235 people there last night. Trap speed is showing some promise in this ****ty air. Car should be good for 126+mph this winter at which point the DR's will go on and I will shoot for a number.

    Slip:
    R/T - 1.242
    60' - 2.087
    330 - 5.389
    1/8 - 7.998
    MPH - 96.13
    1000 - xxxx
    1/4 12.037
MPH - 124.13 <- Note the 28mph pick up from the 1/8mph. Proof of a lot of spinning or the significant bog off the line in my case

28mph isn't much for the power level and weight you have.

I would SERIOUSLY expect a much better trap speed with the power that you have. I trapped damn near that much in my cam only camaro.

I am sure the weather played a part... hopefully you can go back in the fall and run some 11's @ 128-130 like it should.

All my previous cars picked up 25.xx mph from 1/8th to 1/4 on average. Trap speed is right in line with the calculated DA. Race weight is 3500lbs w/ me in it.

If you trapped 124mph w/ a cam only camaro, it must have been a stripper. http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187330 You also must have been one of the fastest cam only Camaros in the country.

Remember, this is intake, exhaust, and cam for me. Stock gears, stock unported intake mani/TB, and stock everything else. This winter should be bring 126+ mph. I hope to hit 127mph personally.

If you trapped 124mph w/ a cam only camaro, it must have been a stripper. I have never seen anything remotely close to 124mph from a cam only camaro. Your rwhp only could have been, what, 430rwhp max?

    415 ish, 122 trap on 3550 raceweight.

    It trapped 117 on 376 rwhp @ 3550

My car would have trapped 123-124 if I had ran it on street tires.

The only reason you picked up 28 mph was from all the intial spinning. If you were to put some sticky tires on that car expect it to run a mid 11 @ 122-123. Your trap will go down as traction increases.

I think you just need to drive it harder.

There was no spin, dead hook. This car picks up mph the harder I launch. My best mph on street tires came from my best 60' (1.94 60). My best mph on DR's came from my best 60'(1.88). My car isn't your car. Your's may mph less with a better 60', but mine, judging from the past 20 passes I have made down the strip in various stages of tune, puts down more mph the better my 60'. I have 20 slips that follow this trend.....no exceptions.

From your race weight and power, you ran on a negative DA day. My car should go 127mph on a negative DA day. Corrections show it at 126.xxmph on a 0 DA day. Roughly ~10whp per mph. 127mph - 122mph = 5. 5 x 10 = 50hp. 415whp + 50whp = 465whp. I am right in line where I should be using "the basic rule of thumb"

I won't give out anymore info to prove anything to you.. I just know what the norm is.

The fact is with 480+ rwhp, you should be trapping over 128-131 in your car.

When the weather gets cooler, hopefully you'll hit that mark.

Your times do look off, because when my camaro was bolt ons only it ran a 12.1 @ 115 with a 1.95 60'.

You don't have too. I have been drag racing for 9yrs with AWD, FWD, and RWD cars. There is nothing you can tell me I don't already know. The fact that you keep trying to compare you stalled auto Camaros times in -DA air(do you even know what DA is??)to my 6spd Vette in +1685' DA air shows your ignorace. I have slips proving how my car runs, you have your camaro....wonder which I will use in predicting my cars behavior

Take a look at these times. These are the fastest H/C or any combination there of(mods are listed) on corvetteforum. Your better off keeping your camaro out of this discussion unless you plan on running the same day at the same track as me.

    1. He runs at MIR. One of the best prepped tracks in the country

    2. The DA was -850'. Proof - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1541575

    3. His car has more cubes and a stock cam shaft. Result? Much stronger power band/tq. I outpower him from 5500rpm to redline.

    4. Z06's are lighter than C6's.

    5. Shockingly enough, his mph increased with a better 60'. Wonder how that happened. DR mph - 129.5, Street Tire mph - 125.94 http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1854872.

    Thanks for playing.

There's not "playing" to it. By your track times my 371rwhp GTO is less than a half second slower in the 1/4th.

You are the one justifying a 12.0 pass with 480 rwhp in a light corvette. Street tires or not... for a 1.95 60' I am not sure how you are bragging about it.

There's no changing the subject. His trap speed is slow for that kind of RWHP. End of story.

Answer this question. Do you know what DA stands for and its impact on times? $10 you have to google it

    1. Where am I bragging?

    2. I went with the sole purpose of seeing what the car trapped. I could give 2 ****s about the ET from this outing.

    3. I ran a 2.08 60'....what are you talking about? The 1.94 60' was w/ bolt ons, no cam...same with the 1.88.

    4. I don't have to justfiy anything. This winter when I actually try for a good ET, you will see for yourself. Sit back and wait.

    Again, thanks for playing.

    *shrug*

Maybe those cars are just underperformers for that kind of power. Who knows.

    I didn't buy a c6 for a reason.

Many of them are H/C and gears and ported intake and TB's. Shockingly I have none of that. Also, these are their best times run in amazing weather, yet here I am trapping the same in crap air.

I also like how Thacker takes the second best time for a Z06 ever recorded bone stock and act like every car should run that way

He'd have to give me something. Maybe slicks to his street tires since he's cammed, weighs less and all that good stuff.

My GTO is nothing more than a cruiser car.

It does fine for what it is.
