i got my car for free in september of last year and so far have 9000 in it not including little shit, and in a few weeks its goin in for paint and boost, so ill probly be 14-15000 into it by then, but i have thought about this before and honestly if i had just left my 1st 8 cars stock then i could have more then likely ha a nice house payed for, so that is kinda depressing, but i figure i better do it now, b4 i have a wife tryin to tell me no

Now, with the Z06, I've spent $14,000+ in the past 5.5 months.

I could have a really, really, really nice turbo Viper/Corvette sitting in my garage. =|

How much have you spent on your car(s)? Was it worth it? Looking back, what would you have done differently? Do not include the price of the car.

hard to add up because i started building cars 6 years ago.

Over that time i flipped cars, sold parts to fund each new project. an each new projectwas bigger than the last.

    Car 1
    B16 CRX
    Skunk2 Stage 1 Camshafts
    VAFC
    Skunk2 Intake manifold
    $4500

    Car 2
    GSR CRX
    OEM Built motor, 11.5:1
    Rocket SPrings, Ret, M22 camshafts
    ANR Header
    AEBS intake manifold
    S1 LSD trans, Comp CLutch
    Chipped ECU 189whp
    $6500

    Car 3
    LSVTEC CRX
    Sleeved block, rods, pistons 12.5:1
2.0l motor, Skunk Pro3 cams (prototypes at the time)
    Ported head, RMF header
    237whp
    $9500

    Car 4
    2JZ 240sx
    Big Turbo
    Cams
    705whp
    $12000

those are the 4 main cars i have built. Car 2 was the most fun, an what made me who i am today. i street raced that thing every weekend, almost never lost, beat alot of cars that shouldnt have lost, it was a beast. It revved to 9900rpms on stock rods, i could beat the shit out of that car an it never broke. lasted 20kmiles before i sold it. New owner drove it for another 20k miles before the motor lost a rod bearing due to the oil pump failing.

the 2.0l car was FUN, but it broke too much, and by the time i built it, everyone else was turbo an way faster. just wasnt what i wanted.

the 2j car would have been fun, but when the motor went, and with me switching jobs i have no desire to rebuild it, and just dont have the time.

Im buying another 240, gonna just drive it at for awile an make it look good before i decide what i want to do. id like to built another 2J but in more of a street form. something with 400-450whp, killer powerband, no maintanence.

but then again im getting the v8 bug now too. i see a C5 z06 in my near future.

I've got about $500 in my Z06...only performance mod is a K&N drop in filter.

other mods are just saftey or apparence, HID's, exhaust plate, harness bar, lap timer, jacking pucks ect.

I love having a "stock" car (besides K&N filter) and being able to run 11's. And if I wanted to step it up a notch I could always throw a nitrous kit and drag radials I've had for years on here and runs 10's. Not to mention it turns heads and get 28MPG

I'm not into drag racing nearly as much anymore

Lately my money has been and will be consumed by road racing...it's more fun anyways!!

Damn big ballers, I'm in maybe 2k, but that includes the old and new turbo setups, but I've gotten some money back out of it allready, so less than 2k. The second turbo setup being free allways helps. I'll be in another 1k if I buy some more tuning stuff, but then I'll need a flywheel and clutch................. I guess that's how it starts. But with checks comming in from some stuff I did, it'll ballance out.

I could have bought a new Z06 with what I've put into the car without the price of the car, but now I can outrun them and most anything else so its worth it to me. Though I guess having a Cobra and a Z06 would have been cool...

We spent $40K on the Supra that doesn't include the car ($28k) or the racing we did with it (travels, gas etc.) We spent $20k on the EVO. We spent about $20k on each 240 (that doesn't include travels to drift). This is what we spent. It doesn't include sponsorships and free stuffs. AND we don't have to account for labor.

Man! No wonder I have no clothes to wear. My clothes money gets spent on our cars.

more then id like to admit, most of it stems from shop labor cost

    Mainsteam = $3k

    ?????????? = $7k

    New wheels setup =$3k

    now in parts around 6k

    my car cost was $12k

having the last shop do her right and shes running so beautifully now like she should be = priceless :-)

I honestly have never thought about it. I am on my third car and I'm only 18.

    Car 1:
    Body Kit:600
    Wheels:400
    Spoiler:300
    System:1000
    paint:250
    Misceleneous:800

    $3300

    Car 2:
    Payments $7k
    Tint:170
    Wheels and tires:550
    exhaust:250
    Intake:150
    Springs new strut and labor:500
    System:900

    est. $9500

Car 3 is really not gonna have much done to it. I put a short throw and a k&n in it the car already had a chip in it. College will pretty much have me tied up for the next 4 years im going to be saving up to have a down payment on a supra when i get out.

Got my first car(s13) in May of last year, got my second car(s14) last February. I've spent close to 7K over the last year not including the price of the cars. I turned 18 last May and I still havent finished building my new motor yet. To make things worst, both cars for the most part are still stock. Hopefully I'll have my first turbo setup in a few mounths, as for regrets I have none. Its all been worth it, after all Im still young and stupid!

Actually the only thing I do regret was pulling a Nick Hogan in my s13.
