yo i'm buying a 1996 mazda mx-6 shit is clean besides a couple of dents and has a tranny slip i wanna go ahead and change it to manual can any 1 tell me the tranny i need i think the ford prob's have that engine and i can get the tranny from that is there anything else someone can tell me?

just because its a mazda doesnt mean the swap would work. 13b rotary=rwd, mx6=fwd.

Probe gt,626,mx3,mx6,all have the same bolt pattern,but i think the probe have the shortest final drive(4.39 i think)

Well if you plan on going f/i any time soon, an MX-6 LS is pretty hard to turbo. So if I were you I would look for an RS (2.0L). I have a 95 626 with the 2.0L and I've never had a problem. Car is almost 12 years old and I've never had a CEL.
