i was told 681rwhp untuned before it started smoking. it still builds boost and pulls hard. i drive it about a mile every two weeks to keep the fluids moving.
thanks

WAIT SO YOU JUST GOT IT REBUILT AND THE MOTORS ALREADY FUCKED UP?? WHATS THE CAUSE OF THE SMOKE? I KNOW YOU MENTIONED HEADER GASKET OR SOMETHING BUT IS THAT WHY IT SMOKES?

what color's the smoke?

That car is fucking badass. If you put new black seats with red inserts in it and a manual transmission that would be amazing

that thing will continue to blow head gaskets (not header gaskets) unless you get it O ringed, V8+turbo=work+money. The good thing is the price, that is a very good price for a ws6, and an awesome price for a ws6 with 37k on the chasis and 1k on the motor even with a blown HG.

i got news for you, its not your hg thats the problem, the way that motor is built its to tight, your frying rings my friend.

well and if they used chrome moly rings it could take a few thousand miles to seat them...of if the rings don't get put on just right one of the rings could turn up right and scar the cylinder wall and cause blow by...its not a header gasket causing it to smoke...I promise...as in my motor has about 8k on it with chrome moly rings and they've never completely seated and it still smokes a little...as well as if they have run synthetic motor oil it won't seat the chrome moly's...just some ideas...

i'm guessing the guy put the built motor in a threw the turbo on their and didnt tune it which is causing the problem.

the header gasket is what turbo dave told me about 2 months ago.

its funny to see people try to assume stuff without even looking at the car.

This guy came by mainstream about 3-4 months ago trying to get the work done on the car, but he could never set up an APPOINTEMENT. he kept just showing up wanting to drop it off and i told him that an APPOINTMENT had to be made if he wanted work done.

The car runs Fine, or it did when it came by our shop. It is a decent setup, the TURBO gasket, HEADER GASKET/EXHUAST MANIFOLD GASKET, are all BLOWN OUT. THats why it smokes it puffs smoke from the gasket being blown out.

Some of the gaskets are completely missing all together.

The motor was running on like 4 cylinders because 4 of th espark plug wires were fried from rubbing up against the turbo manifold.

If you fix all that gaskets, and replace the PLUGS AN WIRES, the car would have run like a champ.

I think we quoted him like $1000 to fix it all or around there.

THe car was setup nice, an the car was clean as hell. the turbo system was a little janky, but still not bad.

since when is .005 to tight? thats a huge piston to wall clearance.

motor seems to have been built right. if you look at his sheet, you would know that.

How are you coming up with this? The blueprint shows .005 clearance, and the piston manufacturer spec's .005... I dont get where youre coming up with that, esp on a turbo motor.

Sorry to chime in with relatively useless comments, but I dont understand why people post up negative BS like this without knowing.

Good luck with the sale...I hope whoever buys it gets the issues worked out...Id like to see it run sometime ;)

Maybe slowhawk should look into this LOL

i'm sure mr.kidd summed up the problems with the car pretty clearly. not too much work but just dont have the time to invest. i'm in the process of several different business transactions and just dont have time for this.

this car sat at the shop for about 2 months because i couldnt make up my mind to fix it or sell it and then in my garage for about another 2.

i'm sure this is a great project for anybody willing to spend some time and money into it. a stock ws-6 trans am usually sells for more than this
