honda cd player ERROR ?

I just bought a 98 accord, nice as hell. leather, ect. the ONLY problem is the friggen cd player wont load a cd, and when you press "cd" on the radio it just says "err" on the screen. wont load a cd at all.

the guy who does our stereos at work told me my cd player is broke and i need a new one, which honestly is fine but i think hes just saying that because he wants to do an install and get some $$$

my mom's acura, when we changed the battery or anything the radio would throw a code, but the entire radio wouldnt work. my radio works fine just cd player doesnt

anyone run into this problem yet.

sounds like a fried cd player to me. Take it to another shop and see what they have to say if you dont believe the guy you talked to.

i had THE same problem a few days ago. just take it to a honda dealer and have them reset it. I took mine to THE honda service center in my area, they did whatever they do and he gave he a radio code. I punched THE code in and it worked.

does anyone else have any ideas? I've been putting it off but i would really just like to fix the thing, what exactly is it that causes the err code?

my buddy told me it might be jammed or something and that it could be fixed.

and if i did somehow fix it, would i have to kill the power and reset the radio to get the err code to go away?

motorized lens is no longer working..
It has the same problem with my cd player in my integra..
it shown the code but i forgot, you can look it up in your manual book if you have it.
but it's time to trash it and get a new one..

Honda CD players are friggin trash... the newer ones atleast. Mine will only *maybe* work when it is super hot outside.
