I'll make gear-dependent EBC, El.q ?

I'm gonna develop a gear-dependant EBC. I'll make it simple as possible: one knob gain, and 5 knobs boost for each gear .. I was thinking to implement a LCD display, but that way I'll have to stand up the unit like the Apexi one, while with no LCD it will laying down like the Greddy ones ..

anyways, does someone know what the VSS and the RPM signal looks like ?

- working of frequency change
(increase speed = increase frequency, but same impulses)

increase speed:

OR


- working with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM)
(increase speed = increase impulses' width, but same #impulses in given time)

I hope it's the frequency change, not the PWM ..

So, can anyone tell, cause I'm too lazy I guess to go down and start measuring. I figured out I'd ask first. 10x
