I want to do away with my tired p28 pistons and exchange them for a higher compression piston. Can anyone direct me to a piston that requires no modification to the block and isn't going to have a valve clearance issue inside of a d16z6. I would prefer an easy direct replacement.

why wont you try too use some jdm zc shoc non VTEC pistons?? (why you ask) because you can raise the compression up that means more power:)

Im looking to upgrade my rods and pistons, but i dont want to end up in the 12:1 range. Im looking for something a little more milder and reliable like 11:1. Any suggestions for a rod and piston combo that doesnt require any block work and that doesnt break the bank?

even with 11:1 range C/r your going to need to be tuned, may as well step it up to 12:1 or so and its still reliable with good tune and gas.
