I'm interested in buying a WRX within the next two years or so, but I would like to learn more about them. I've looked at NASIOC and can't find specifics and all. What year did they switch from this front end:

to this one?
http://www.autoweek.nl/images/480/7/86b5fb88e882bc35b22067a3d6310d87.jpg

Also... which years/trim models were n/a instead of turbo? I read on NASIOC that there were some bugeyes that were just n/a...

I just want a regular WRX, not an STI, I certainly can't afford an STI. But after about a year and a half of saving + selling my car at that time I should be able to afford a WRX.

Yerrow is right.

But if money is an issue which is kinda seems. Why don't you go for an older model RS (98-01) drop a WRX/STi motor on it. And go from there. They're cheaper, and are sexy as hell.

Here are some pictures V.

Yeah, I know the 2.5 RSs are cheaper, but I'm dead set on having the 04/05 body style... lol I'm not exactly buying it for speed, 200+ awhp is enough for me for a while.

Yeah, that would be cool, me and SABlude have been trying to start a car club for a while now. People have been breaking into your Mazda? That sucks... I've never had a car nice enough for people to break into. lol

I seriously think that a regular WRX would suit me well. I certainly miss having some actual power under my control while driving, my Jetta is SERIOUSLY lacking in that department. I'll probably end up doing the stupid thing and putting the STI wing on a WRX though. :lmfao::lmfao:

One more question guys. What are the differences in the bodywork on a regular WRX and a STI?

Okay, from what I can tell, these are the differences. Please correct me if I'm wrong
STI has these:
-Front Lip
-Spoiler
-Bigger Hood scoop
-More powerful engine
-6speed instead of 5speed
-STI has larger wheels
-misc. interior trim is different.

Also the sti's interior is ridiculous, it has brembo brakes, and much nicer wheels.

Just a question magius. I am just wondering why you want such a fast car. You say that you don't like to accelerate fast and you don't go but a few miles per hour over the speed limit. So whats the incentive to save up $13 or $14K to buy one of these? Do you plan on tracking it?

Well, for the most part, its just a car I've always liked. I just want a car that is quick enough to keep myself from being run over in traffic, is still reliable, has four doors (I have to drive my brothers around), and looks good. My Jetta meets those qualifications for the most part, except that it accelerates like an old man with a walking cane. I do drive in autox events every now and then too.

Besides, its more fun to drive a faster car, even if you never drive it anywhere over the speed limit. lol @ Nitro
