Last month, my girlfriend moved out. This wasnt such a big deal (i saw it coming) except for the fact we still are under a lease until february 15th or something. Well so last months rent bill rolled around on the 5th...this is funny because i didnt receive it in the mail in my mailbox and called to request it and on the 5th, i get a late notice on my door saying i owe instead of my normal 620-630, i now owe almost $900 because my fucking water bill is $87.....for a one bedroom apartment. Anyway, long story short, i tried to explain the situation to my complex manager and she said they are filing reposessory fees for $250 two days ago. so now i owe $1200 according to them to keep the apartment then get called today saying they need keys by noon. So my rent is officially 10 days late and im already getting evicted so when i get off, im going to get all of my things.

The only part of the situation i am concerned with, is the fact that i do not want it to affect my credit cause when i was 18, i fucked up my credit by maxing out my limits but have owrked hard to get my credit decent again. My sister went up to our complex the other day as she lives there too and tried to pay the rent but they said that she couldnt do it on her credit card. While she was up there, they actually gave her personal information about the account and one agent told her i was an occuant and not a leasee and when i called, they said it would hit my credit

anyway, i called up there today to get a copy of my lease to read thoroughly through it and still havent had it faxed (since 11am) but was told by management that i would have to pay $3600 to keep it off my credit...this seems rediculous since i have a month and a half left on my lease and my rent is $595 a month. im ok paying $595 for next month and the $1k or whatever they are charging me now but i am not ok with paying the equivalent to 6 months in rent for a month and a half remaining on my lease

so clifs..

roommate moved out

stuck me with lease

rent is 10 days late and getting eviction notices

to keep off MY credit they want me to pay almost $3600 ($598 over 6 months) which is actually more than my rent for 6 months while i have 2 months remaining on my lease

is there any way i can fight this since my roommate left breaking her part of the lease? my other major thing is if i pay half of the $3600, will she have to pay the other? im not willing to pay $3600 because she dipped out on her end of the lease.

Thanks for any advice

Damn man reading this post gave me anger managment issues. I know exactly how you feel man, apartments willl do everything they can to screw u over as quickly as possible. i had a similarissue when i got out of my last apt the thing was i have military orders to and they somehow lost them and i ended up having to pay like 2grand cause of some bullshit.. the only advice i can say is to try to take it to a lawyer but apt's cover themselves pretty good in theyer contracts so good luck..

p.s. fukit burn the complex down haha lo jk

yeah i still havent got my lease or the info faxed to me...makes me wonder why...i called 4 times yesterday and still havent gotten it and once i do, im taking it to a lawyer and getting them to read over it. I think they made a HUGE mistake though cause they gave my sister more information than they should have as far as my lease is concerned/was concerned (one agent told her i was an occupant and not a leasee where as another told her i was on the lease itself) but didnt tell her the rent amount when she attempted to pay it for me. I mean im cool with paying 1800 or whatever to keep it off my credit but ill be damned if im paying ALL of it when my roommate is the one who left

YOU dont have a copy of the lease...like when u moved in, i had some similar problems recently...but i got owned when i read the fine print...anyways thats still thats wayyy too much for 10 days i would assume! our late fees are rediculous in my complex...$100 after first day...then goes up each day from there...good luck...i say get a lawyer!!

STILL NO COPY OF THE LEASE AFTER BEING ASKED TO FAX THE LAST THREE DAYS....FOUND OUT THOUGH THAT IF I GOT EVICTED, THE MANAGER LOSES A BONUS SO ITS ALL GOOD...I PAID $780 OR SOME SHIT YESTERDAY AND THEY TOOK THE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT WHEN THEY WOULDNT DO IT THREE DAYS AGO AND THEN WERE PISSED OFF ABOUT IT SO NOW IM JUST RIDING OUT THE LEASE THE NEXT TWO MONTHS...FUCKERS
