You make no mention of what kind of ram it uses, or what kind of onboard video card it has.

By the way, you can get barebones 2.4GHz CPU + motherboard for $188 new off pricewatch. $250 is about $100 too much

You say this..but I didnt go to price watch...what kind of brand name boards are they using in those machines?

188 gets you a cpu, mobo, fan, and case. add the hard drives and dvd rom drive and cd burner, and you're looking at around 320-350.
