I tried going through all the threads with speakers, and there were just too many. Sorry if I'm repeating a topic.
I was wondering if you guys could tell me how Infinity amps and speakers are compared to other brands. I have a beemer that holds 5 1/4in speakers so my choices are limited.
Thanks =)

I have very limited experience with the kappa perfects, but they performed pretty damn well for the price in the installs I've heard.

Infinities are one of the best imo. I've had mine (reference) for about a year now, running amplified at 70rms and they are holding up and still sound great. Also have infinity sub, great sound.
Amps are nice, but a bit too price-y for the performance.

ohk thanks =) Yeah the amp was pretty blah price wise. My uncle's taking me to go look at more speakers, amps, and subs tomorrow. I'm thinking he wants to widen his options. How do they compare to polk audio do you know?

I dont know anything about Polk, what price range are you look at?
my personal opinion. Look for silk dome tweets. Metal dome tweets are way too bright for my tastes.

bass is for subs or midbass
If your looking for something you can get locally I would look at MB Quart, or the JL XR line.

I've only used Infinity for years. Mostly the perfects but I've used the Kappas in many setups. They are a bit bright but in my current convertable I can't hear the difference anyways. Never really used infinity's amps though so I can't comment on those.

where can u get mb quart locally these days? hifi buys no longer sells them so i dont know where else to go
and polks sounds awesome. i think if u go to frys u can compare the 2 and hear the difference

I havent looked for components in quite a while, but last time i saw them, they were at hifi, you say they dont carry them anymore, so I dont know where else.
