Your right lyrical content, beats, and delivery aswell as consistency have alot to do with record sales. If someone can hit all these factors chances are they will have a good record but then again if they still can't sell then no one will have a chance to hear it. All those factors really play into the personal preferance thing...for instance some people love lil jon beats and some people think it's trash everyone has different taste and a sound for what they hear.
