View Full Version : Extremly stripped head bolt nut, help

I have an EXTREMELY stripped head bolt nut. i went to sears and bout the damn craftsman extracter bits and the ones that are close to the size of the headbolt are too big and the otehr one is too small, if anyone has any tricks to get it out, PLEASE let me know

how do you strip a 12 pt nut?
good luck, those are NOT something you strip, no way to get them out

My stepdad was helping me, and he didnt have enough pressure down on the bolt while i was using a braker bar and it slipped off

yea. use a 11 and hammer it in. then getting it out is another problem. lol

Ya, i used a smaller one, hammered it on the nut,, but now that socket is useless, i cant get it out of the head bolt, its fine tho, its off

To get the bolt out... Throw it in a vise heat it up with a torch, stick a bolt in the middle and hammer the fuck out of it
