1996 Chevrolet K2500 6.5 Diesel Suburban 4x4, Emerald Green Mettalic w, Neutral Tan interior. Leather, Dual HVAC, Michlin Tires stock size, Cruise, PW PL PS PM, etc....LT model. Mobil 1 oil in all cases and been there since 120k. Never any problems except a ABS sensor has low input so keeps the light on. NO SES or Check Engine lights ever. 2nd owner, just a friends suburban and helping him out so he gave it to me to sell it for him. I love it and would love to have it but no cash. It gets 23MPG on the highway. Interior is a easy 8 out fo 10 minus Drivers seat with really little wear. Exterior has some paint chips and a sew scratches but nothing major. Accident free truck and has 266k on it. Not used for towing except for a boat. Anyway in good shape, needs only ABS sensor replaced and thats about it. Things that are under 4 months old:
New COMPLETE A/C system compressor, lines, dryer, condensor, heater core, etc...
New PMD
New injection pump at 180k
I have the factory manual for it
Only leak is a factory oil cooler line. only 1 drop of oil after you park it and thats it.

Diesel, I had a 345k truck I sold several years ago with never a problem and it was running good when sold, its still local and the guy put an injection pump on it after another 60k on it and its still going, take car of it with good oil and changes and keep a eye on everything. No reason you can't get 400k easy out of these motors. They are not the most powerful things when it comes to towing when comparing to todays present diesel truck market but they do a good job regaurdless. If you drove it you would think it had 50k on it, just broke in. Just my .02 worth

Youve got nothing to worry about with diesels. Diesel motors run a hell of a lot longer than gas engines do. Take the cummings motor. six cylinder 5.7 inline turbo. They are designed off semi engines with the same concepts. My buddy has a 96 with 160 on her and hes just about to put a racing tranny in it for the power he is pushing (quite modified). And no matter if you are towing or not they still get 20 mpg. Its crazy why I even drive a gas truck.... Ive been looking for a cummings or powerstroke for awhile myself infact

agreed the motor is good for at least another 100k. But you have to watch the tranny like a hawk. The tq those engines put isnt easy to handle. Has the trans ever been rebuilt? Hope so. But really if it dies I would just find a 5 speed and swap it out. If its a hydro clutch then it will be a snap (the trans just being hard to find). Bit high considering you can find 200-250k fords for 4k

TC was changed 40k ago and these trans are solid, not sure if you know but its a 4l80E not the 4l60E. All 3/4-ton 1/2 got the 4L80E. Much stronger than the 60. Anyway buddy wants it gone so he said $5500 obo. God bless

nice looking burban. I had a 94 in that, same set up except mine was blue. make it 199K miles before the turbo was replaced Awsome suv for the money and good on milage. Also there is a company in callie now that make upgraded for the old trusty 6.5 I think its 100 hp and 150 lbtq for $1500 bucks. Also these are the diesel stuff before GM went high tech so when parts do brake they are cheap to fix.

Thanks for the update and bump for me, God Bless and Merry Christmas. Also the only really expensive parts to fixed have been replaced already so its good to go.

I'll see if I can take some better pics, the pics make the carpet and interior look dirty and its not, clean as it could possibly be so I will post some up later. God bless
