Im looking to see if anybody knows how to get into working as a civilian contractor for a military base.

Look for job listings at companies that have big military contracts like Lockheed Martin Grumman Northrop whatever else they are now. I've seen postings for civilian contractor positions both stateside and abroad, including combat zones.

ive been looking in like the military.com websites were they have the jobs but havent been able to find anything.

i was looking more along the lines of doing what my rate was in the Navy. working on F18's.

look on a site called usajobs your more than likely gonna have to leave atl though that site is the site they hire all the civilians on my base from

Look at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, GA. Robins is the depot to rebuild most USAF aircraft. Also, they work on the F15 - not F18 but similar.
