How many of you guys really mean it :

"For example :

My Mom Got hit by a train 2 days ago, and shes in the hospital, And I dont know what to do !!

IA user replies :

Hope your mom gets well soon. "

I wonder how many of you actually think about that unknown persons pain after you log off IA or any other site for that matter.

Just curious, Ive seen a few threads like this lately and always wondered that.

Honestly I don't think about it later. I mean it when I say it, but it isn't a constant. Now if it was, say you or Brett or someone I've gotten close to, I would think about it more. Later, QD.

I genuinely post what I feel. If I don't care for something, I simply won't reply. If I reply at all, it's worth my time to acknowledge someone or something and show my support.

Same here. Which is why I don't say, "I'll keep in my prayers." I don't pray so I just say hope. Later, QD.

I didnt post in the thread about the guy losing his friend in the Miata accident because I wouldnt have meant anything I said. I did however post in the thread about the young man losing his child because I though about that for days and I cant imagine the pain he must be going through.

Honestly, Im a firm believer in one's capability to express empathetic feelings only if they have gone through a simliar event. Sympathy on the other hand is a feeling that is easier to hand out.

in response to loved one dying, i'm sincere. 'cause i know how they are feelin.
in response to people being nearly killed, i'm sincere. been there, done that, got the scars.
in response to mofos doin dumb shit that puts relationships in jeopardy, i'm like "that was stupid, but if you really want it(the relationship you put in jeorpardy), go get it. and i mean that too.

I generally just say "I'm sorry for your loss" or something along those lines if there is a death, because well I am sorry.
