That is a damn shame....... I would not even piss on that bitch, if she were on fire in the middle of the steet, to help put out the flames.
What really pisses me off when reading this is that my parents house was destroyed by that storm.
These are pics of the outside and inside after a 12 foot wave slammed into the house.

They lived on the backbay in Between St. Martin and Ocean Springs. Their house was over 600 Yards from the water with a heavy undeveloped forrest in front of their house. Yet as you can see the damage on Dismuke Dr. was still pretty bad. The forrest was the only thing that stopped the entire house from washing away.
We salvaged less than 1 car full of items. The smell and the mud were horrible. They now live in Winder after they stayed at my house for 4 months.
Too many people think that New Orleans was big deal with Katrina.... Bullshit!!! Look at the people forgotten on the gulf coast of Mississippi.... Fucking too many complainers about that how the levy's failed and shit and that they lost everything....
Those people can piss in the wind and try telling that to the thousands living in Pass Christain, Waveland, or Long Beach.... Or wait those cities are gone now..........
I just hate every peice of mainstrem news regarding Katrina being about New Orleans. Bastards knew for a long ass time that the levys would fail yet they did nothing and continued to live there.
Sorry to get on a Rant....

i disagree, theres just some kind of flaw in the idea of living under sea level in an area thats surrounded by water

so waht about the folks who live near volcanoes or the people who live in florida or the islands in the bahamas. IN dangerous areas, or people who live in california with earthquakes. U act like it happens all the time, its only happened twice i believe. Or how about if u get shot in clayton, than its ur fault.. beacause u live in a high crime area, and u should have known better. My family has been in New Orleans for years, im sure the ohter guys family has been there forawhile.. if ur born in a place it turns into ur home.. they always knew it could happen and it happen.

The point I was making is simple. When most people, news, polititicans, etc think of Kartrina, they think New Orleans. Mainly because the gov. there were all a bunch of idiots who like their previous gov. IGNORED the obvious. To have a city SINKING more each year and not bolster the protection from the Gulf is unforgiviable. Had the PEOPLEs goverment there done their jobs the city levys would have held. Saying anything different or redirecting the truth is only living in denile.
Just the idea of the stupidity of the woman who sold the house with moving back to a place that is no better off than it was 2 years ago is insane. What really is shameful is that she misled people to believe that she was needy and homeless. I my opinion she is a piece of shit who did not deserve a damn thing.
Granted a large number people in of New Orleans were displaced until the waters receded/cleanup completed, but as I stated before what about the folks who lost everything on the East side of the storm?? Some still to this day have NOTHING and that is the story not shown on TV when Katrina is mentioned.
And for the record. My parents refused the $2K funds FEMA stating that it needed to go to someone who needed it more, which made me proud of them for going through so much and still having the ability to cope and accept only what they needed.
Also please note that the Biloxi, MS area is 20ft ABOVE Sea Level and the other cities on the MS gulf coast are also 10-30 above, hence the reason why "levy's" are not required on the MS gulf coast....

You are 1000+ feet below sea lvl.......IN A FUCKING VALLEY....SURROUNDED BY WATER....YOU BEST GET YOUR ASS MOVING THERE IS NO HOPE!!!!!!" That is what i am trying to say. Hell i mean fucking new orleans is a fucking hole in the ground surronded by water WTF did you expect. I am jsut saying that they should have worried about other places first that where unlucky...not stupid.
Also the thing about the tornados and the volcanos and shit...come on...thats a onec in the blue moon...you dont hear such things as Volcano Season or Earthquake Season...i mean fuck its going to happen...wtf they going to do next time a big ass one heads for New Orleans?

below sea level life in a place that is surrounded by water is completely different than a hurricane or a volcano, and when people are hit by tornados or their stuff is cremated in a volcano you dont see them scamming people out of $ and you really dont hear much about them wanting any kind of help at all

ur right everyone who lived in new orleans or had their house destroyed deserved it and they are stupid for living there in the first place. And they shouldnt get any kind of help, beause a small portion of them ytake advantage of the help they get. Thus.... noone should lend a help to anyone..
but i have to ask whens the last time a whole city has been completly under water int he US?

I believe that when you live in an area like New Orleans, you are taking risks. These risks need to be weighed and understood. The fact remains that the city is surrounded by water and is located well below sea level. They live in a bowl surrounded by water. To live there and not understand that the possibility exists that your house could be destroyed by a flood is purely stupid.
I wish that this never happened, but it did. It was only a matter of time, though.
I will not, however, feel sorry in any way for people who move back there. If something like this happens again, you are stupid for moving back. You should have learned your lesson the first time.
And they shouldnt get any kind of help, beause a small portion of them ytake advantage of the help they get. Thus.... noone should lend a help to anyone..
It is a shame how a few fuktards take advantage of a situation like this. They should die a slow and painful death.
but i have to ask whens the last time a whole city has been completly under water int he US?
When is the last time a city was BUILT below sea level in the US? on the coast? In the historical direct path of 1+ hurricanes each year?
Thought so.

im not arguing the risks, and im not arguing that hurricanes hit NO alot. But it was supposed to be protected form a CAT4 hurricane and it turned out that it wasnt. And when the levys gave way.. it flooded the city. it has happened before alooong time ago. Ok soo when ur house gets destroyed.. along with the whoel cities and a whole city needs help.. whats wrong with helping people who need it and getting them in homes and back on the right track? New orleans gets hurricanes buyt not hurricanes that made that much rain and that much wind.. that was only the second time, so why are u all acting like it happens every year?
how about another example, what about in lebanon and in Iraq, a month or so ago therer where thousands of americans trapped in hostile areas, should they have been helped? Even tho they knew what is goin on over there.

Not saying people should not be helped. We need to find a better way of helping people.
In reference to Katrina families, I see it this way.....
Before the storm:
1. People who heeded the storm warnings and evacuated.
2. People who heeded the storm warnings and went to storm shelters.
3. People who ignored the storm warnings and stayed in their houses.
I have no sympathy for group #3. They are stupid. They were risking their lives, their families lives, and the lives of the rescue workers that have to go find them.
After the Storm:
1. People who move back to New Orleans.
2. People who re-locate to another part of the country.
3. Scam artist, people like in the OP of this thread.
I have a problem worrying about the people in group #1, as they now know the risks first hand. No excuses later.
I think the people in group #3 should die.
Disclaimer: Please note that these groups are for illustration purposes only.
So in conclusion we should stop helping starangers.....And feel no sympathy for ppl living in new orleans if this happens again.. and not help them.. and they deserve to die if they stayed in NO during the storm..
sounds like a plan to me.
Ill continue to help people who need help..because i would want for some help if i made a wrong decision.

i love when people talk about a place they arent from like they know whats going on. all your information is based off mainstream news, and other people's thoughts on what should have happened.
but to the subject at hand...does it really matter if that couple stayed in that house or not. they didnt do anything illegal but sell a house GIVEN to them. last time i checked if someone gives you something you can do whatever you want with it, but dont get me wrong, i'm not condoning their actions since profiting off charity is BS when someone else could have definitly used that house.
for other comments...i dont give a shit whether N.O. is under sea level, it was and still is my home town. and i do miss it. and i'm sure people born and raised there still feel the same.
yes the media focuses on N.O. hmmm why? cuz people were left there for like 5 days till they were rescued that is why.
bottom line is Katrina was a unique storm with unique aftermath. New Orleans has been hit plenty of times in the past by hurricanes and survived, same goes for the gulf coast, although flooding was always an issue. Just to name some past major storms, Betsy and Camille. wasnt Andrew another? the levee's held then, right? weren't we under sea level then? my point is if you were really from there you'd have a different POV to share...
put your self in the victim's shoes...you try picking up and relocating with nothing to a unfamiliar place. then share your thoughts after experiencing that.

NO isn't the only town.
savannah is built below see level but is on the coast with no levees? i believe the city has some low areas but not below see level
Long Island
Tampa
Miami
New Orleans
Galveston
all those cities have dangerous areas below sea level.. and the same thing that happened in NO can happen to all those cities, it has happen in some of them but not as bad yet.
If she did some underhanded shit like that I'm sure she already burned through the money she made anyway... trust me $88K doesn't go far especially when you're starting from nothing. The bitch will stay broke..
And I said it before but after Katrina happened and people started relocating here, I swear those were the worst customers I ever had on my job. 99.9999% of them acted like the world owed them something and everything should be free. I know not all of them were like that but the ones I had were, every one of them.
