makes about as much sense as a LS1 in a FD lol

Except the main difference is

Mustang (bad chassis) + 20B (bad motor) /= RX7 (great chassis) + LS1 (great motor)

Thats a crazy swap. The only thing that I like about mustangs is how they sound, and now that car doesn't even sound nice. But its not my car, so props to the owner for building something different.

it is unique, and at least it's not an SR20 or a 2JZ

You obviously have never driven a Mustang setup for road racing, and have never driven a 20B powered car.

Since I have done both, you might want to reconsider your statement.

BTW - I do like the LS1 motor, just would rather have it in a Vette (I like Vettes), and a rotary in the FC.

I have driven many mustangs and frequent SVTPerfomance almost more than any other site. And they will tell you as well, the Mustang chassis is not even near as good as an RX7 for road racing. Never driven a 20B, never will, don't want to. Sure they have great potential, assuming you have $10k and know how to make your own tools/spare parts.

The stang would have better off with a 4.6 4v and a Kenne Bell or Helion Turbo kit.

I'm assuming that the car is from Puerto Rico.

I just hope it hooks up, otherwise, they should have dropped it into a 1st gen RX7.

rick engman 4 rotor.

Woah, you can't do that. My argument is specifically against the 20B, can't just throw in a 4 rotor...

Correct, that Mustang is PR built.

Stock for stock the FD is a better chassis; however, it is quite easy and cheap to setup a Mustang for road racing. It really comes down to the driver, the car setup is minimal until you reach higher levels of racing.

20Bs are no more difficult to work with than LS1s. Both are excellent motors, bit h have their own quirks. For me, it's 6 of 1, half dozen of the other. I just would prefer to have the LS1 in a Vette chassis - Vettes are excellent chassises also.

IMO,if u put a Non Rotary in your RX7,it should be taken from u....i dont get it, u have a very special car in the RX-7,but people would rather make the RX-7 into a lighter Camaro..that my:2cents:

And... They own Aston Martin too, but you don't see any Vanquishes with rotaries or 4.6 Mod motors.

No. People would like to have the power of a camaro/ta/vette and the Looks, and chassy of an Rx7.

The swap in this thing is so clean it's almost crazy. Not really my cup of tea, but props for doing it right.

its not as far fetched as you may think. mazda and ford have a long standing partnership. do you remember 302 miata swaps? think of the capri turbo. the probe/mx6 and mx3. the focus, mazda3, and mazda miata all use dirivatives of the duratech 2.3:thinking:

Only 34% which is just enough to mess up some potentially great cars.

naw, the ford/mazda cars were mainly the probe/mx6/mx3/protege/escortgt/323/capri/ even the kia sephia ..they were mazda powered. The focus is mainly ford, and a euro ford at that the 3 is still a japanese car but they arent as close as the protege and escort were back in the 90's. The duratech motors are european built, but the Duratec 2.3 and the MZR 2.3 (2.3turbo in the mazdaspeed 6 and 3) they are seperate motors. But the 2.3 in the focus and the 2.3 in the mazda3's are the same. But nowadays u have the focus, mazda 3 and the volvo s40 shariing the same chassis.

judging by the style of the car (chrome wheels, tenzo r reats....chrome fire extinguisher under the hood) and by the tropical scenery in the background, i would say its a person of hispanic descent, and also knowing the rotory motors are HUGE in puerto rico, i would say its a car in puerto rico....they swap rotorys into every kind of car down there, thats pretty much the only motor they work on. anyways just my 2 cents on it.
