umm i'm not sure where the thermostat is located at on my 96 civic with a d16y7..any one that can help me will be apreciated..thanks:goodjob:

before you fuck up your car by attempting to work on it with an incompetant mechanic (you) take it to one of IA's lovely sponsors who you can exchange monetary value for repairs, upkeep, and upgrades to your vehicle. good luck!!

also the feeling of beign a damn n00b is a very accurate depiction. but at least you know your car is equipped with a nearly worthless non vtec single cam which is a start to being e-mechanically inclined.

I looked around online, and found instructions on how to find it on a 94 civic but that may not work since the 94's and 96's are 2 different generations, but who knows.

true..i think it is on top where the line from the top of the radiator runs to the top of the motor..and no i'm not a complete dumb ass i do know a pretty good amount about cars..i have replaced thermostat on different types of cars..you know some times simple stuff is a bigger bitch than hard stuff..

^its pretty easy on a civic to replace the thermostat. 2 bolts hold a cover on the thermostat. take the rad hose off, then take the cover and there it is.

see that's what i was thinking in the beginning i just wasn't sure which hose it was..i figured that it was the top hose coming off the radiator going onto the top of the motor
