as I stated in my other thread, I turn 21 in a couple weeks and am getting a new phone for my birthday. I am gonna choose between the LG VX9900 seen here (http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/smartphones/lg-vx9900-qwerty-smartphone-with-dual-stereo-speakers-nov-27-150-215973.php) it is basically a pda phone, wrapped into a slimmer design. for those that have seen the older version of this phone, this one will be slimmer than that one. or the chocolate (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=2426) Canit quite decide yet, so I figured I would ask for yall's opinions. thanks

I dont like verizon. Just the idea of a company recording all my phone calls isnt cool. You never know when something you say can come back and bite you in the ass.
But if you can swap out the sim cards. And if you know what type of network verizon has and if its compatible with the phone. Id get a Nokia 6265 personaly. I strictly use nokias. There reliable phones and always have great features you dont always think about. Like my phone will automatically block calls from whoever I choose.
get that one lg u had in your first post

well price is somewhat an issue. trying to keep it 150- after 2 yr contract. my parents already resigned a contract, so thats why it's not much of a problem to do it again.

verizon blows, get a gsm service like tmobile or cingular, then get yourself one of these....http://www.livingroom.org.au/cameraphone/archives/sony-ericsson-k800.jpg

but if youre stuck with verizon, i say the motorola Q. the chocolate sucks ass, it just looks good but the features suck, bad camera, low music volume, freezes up all the time, etc.

i work at verizon so i get to play around with phones a lot. Probably the absolutely best phone for the money right now would be the lg 9900. not only is it basically a PDA, its slim, its brand new, you don't have to have data service for it, it has a 2.0 megapixel camera, great for texting, etc...All for149.99.
Really it all depends on how you're going to be using it. If you listen to a lot of music, the chocolate is nice in dark, white, red, or green. If you dont really listen a WHOLE lot of music, there's the 9900, 9800, 8600, 8300 by LG, a990 or a930 by samsung, Razr or Krazr by motorola.
My recommendation: come to Thomaston, I'll sell you the 9900

yeah, I was gonna wait till I could play with the 9900 in the store. I have a feelin once I play around with the 9900 I will probably want that. since you work for verizon you could prolly answer me this, can I set music that I put on the phone from my computer as a ringer, or do I have to use my own programs to get around that?

you should be able to, I'm guessing you used the USB cord to transfer from computer to phone? you should be able to play, then have the option to set music as a ringtone.
what kind of phone do you have now?

If you want a cool PDA phone get a motorola Q.

only problem with a Q is that if you set it u for wireless synch for emails, its view only. if you're going for a PDA, I would probably go for a treo 700w personally or the new samsung i730. BUT, this guy is saying he doesn't want to spend a whole lot on a new phone, the treo would be about $300+, even the Q would be $200 in store.
So like I said earlier, depending on exactly how you're going to use the phone, stick with the lg 9900 or 8600 or chocolate or krazr
