i am goin to paint my wheels fri. someone please tell me what kinds of sandpaper i need to use to get the best look , what grit is gonna give me the best polished lip look , and what grit do i need to have to get the paint to stay on good? thanx fellas!:cheers:

WOW i'm painting my wheels to. I'm going for a Glossy Black look. But i have to take of the Gold paint thats on there now. When me and my friend did his wheels. We started low like 320Grit something like that and worked our way up to like 1000 i 'm not for sure. And he was going for a polish silver. They turned out ok.

Wet sand it up to 3000 grit sand paper. It's not easy.

what are you painting it with. cause if its good paint all you need to do is scotch brite it. 3000 grit wont leave enough for the paint to bond to, thats use for color sanding. more like 400 or 800 then paint it. i can get them done for you for cheap with automotive paint.

i am usin duplicolor for wheels that i got from autozone , how cheap are you talkin?

plastic bead blaster? thats what we used on a set of old rally wheels and we just sprayed them and they are clean......until last weekends rallyx
