Not sure if this whole thread is just sarcasm or not, but the name Black Friday came from an accounting term. When stores are taking losses, they are said to be "in the red." When the numbers in the books go from red to black, they are making profits. Most stores make such huge profits on the Friday after Thanksgiving, it boosts most from red to black. Hence, Black Friday is really "boost us into the black Friday."
