What is the problem!!???

Hello all. Well as some of u know i have a 91 katana 600 ive been dicking around with. well today i decide to take her out to see how she was driving since im going to ride her to work tomm. The problem is when i give it gas and going up the rpm you can feel it hesitating. It seems like it just all of a sudden started doing this problem after i tightened up the chain a bit. It even did it when i was crusing at about 90. like something was trying to hold it back. It revs perfect. just when there is a load. Since the hesitating i have changed the oil, tested the coil packs,put in new spark plugs and it still does it. Im runnin some sea foam in it to see if it will help the carbs out some.
What else could cause this?? and what could happen if the chain was adjusted off or to tight besides it popping off?? Thanks

Leave a good bit of slack in the chain. If you tighten it too much, you can run into problems.

if not the chain and actually a fuel issue, has this bike ever been rejetted???

I would say the same fuel is bad now days and even alot of cars dont run right.I no my tsi talon wouldnt run on qt gas there gas would not burn for some reason and if u have water it will do it>And have u check the plugs and to see what they are burning like and make sure there aint no water on the bottom of tank.

im dumping the tank tomm when i get home. i pulled the plugs out and they looked a tad bit white. Which would mean im running rich right? I loosend up the chain some and took it down the road. it felt alot better at first. then it hesitated a tad. then i adjusted it out more and then that thing startin buckin in second worse than before. How far or where can i find out to turn the 12mm nuts out on the back of the swing arm for my year and size bike?

Is your front sprocket grabbing on the chain correctly? Does this happen everytime to switch gears??

i still gotta check the front sprocket. ill let u know. it doesnt happen switching gears though

has the bike had any exhaust work or other performed? if it has an exhaust and high flow air filter, without the proper jet kit, it will lean out and create the condition you have desrcibed

for the chain... there should be @15mm of free play. be sure when you adjust it you count the marks on the swing arm and keep the rear axle straight

its been jetted and has an f1 dual exhaust. and it didnt do it when i first got the bike it started almost 3 months later. and for the chain the 15mm are measured from the bolt on the swing arm?

ok guys. i just looked at my rear sprocket and i could see little metal flakes sticking off of the groves that the chain is made to stick in like its wearing it away. What does that mean!!????

you have too much tension on the bike. play with the chain adjusters.

he doesn't have to replace the chain.. well maybe... check the front and rear sprocket again. Then adjust the chain adjusters. You got leave atleast half an inch of looseness.

at the center of the chain, between the front and rear sprockets is where you check for slack
